Because she is power hungry i wouldn't be suprised if she sell you elder one for power and position? And did i said that every mage is wating but it is pretty naive to think that ruthless power hungry mage will be loyal especially she have "secret agenda" and i doubt that it is hugging orphans not mention whatever her agenda is i doubt it is good for my goals.

That sounds kind of paranoid... the Elder One might be powerful, but I doubt he is offering fine silk sheets and exotic foods.  Vivienne seems to be more interested in a high living standard than anything else... power is simply the means by which this is acquired and maintained, not the ultimate goal.  If the Elder One conquers the world, who is she going to invite to her parties to tell her how wonderful she is?

Seeing all the grumpy, uncomfortable people at the ball... is literally the best thing about the ball.

Well best thing would be my inq doing that ;)

Well you need to be paranoid especially with peoples that are power hungry and play orlesian game just look how naive and trusting leliana finished and how marjolaine that was paranoid. As i said i won't be suprised if she will sell you either to elder one because he will offer something or to someone else for own personal profit.you don't know what she wants we know she is power hungry and will do everything to get more power if elder one will promise her that i doubt that she will refuse out of loyalty to inq.In fact in reality such peoples are most likely to stab you in back how do i know because i would do that too...

I wish there was an option to set the ball on fire. That's just me though.

Well I was planning a red wedding style event but sure that would work to...

I hope mages can do party tricks to win over the nobles.

Anyway just to make the biggest scandal ever my Qunari inquistor is going to come with IB (the Qunari), Solas (the apostate mage) and cole (the demon/killer/spirit/?).

For added scandal I don't even think any of them will come wearing the latest fashion!

I imagine getting your party into the proper attire will be a prerequisite objective, unless of course you can crash the party... that would be a fun option. Still, I think it's kind of the appeal, really, seeing your force of unstoppable warriors reduced to awkward self-conscious fashion victims.

I think an Elven female is going to have the worst time at the ball. Not only is someone guaranteed to take her as a servant at some point or say that she ought to be, but there is a high chance of sexual harassment from some Chevalier assuming that she's available. Carry a knife...definitely taking team macho with me, Bull, Blackwall and Cullen...I think they'll explain the error of any Chevaliers ways...if Josephine stops me from knifing them first.

I have the feeling that no-one at the ball will care what race the Inquisitor is.  The real scandal is going to come from wearing shoes that don't match your dress, or (the worst of the worst and I'm sorry anyone has to read these words) wearing the same dress as someone else.

Based on some of these comments, it seems like the fans want the ball to be Citadel DLC: Part Dragon Age.

Can't wait to see the reactions of a Qunari wearing a suit during the ball!

Yea, am excited to attend to the ball, however am also curious as to who we can bring. Like Cole, Iron Bull, Cassandra, or maybe even an advisor. Also who can we meet, the empress or Gaspard, maybe both at the same time. That will be deadly.

I think people will be dissapointed with the level of reactivity. It will likely be almost identical with the exception of very rare flavour dialogue.

Being a human mage will be the best I think. You're nobility, educated and you don't need to bring a weapon in if things go south. A mage is never without his hands. Also a handy party trick.

I see either Qunari being something that the "posh" nobles are afraid of/ disgusted by or something that draws everyones attention in wonder as if you're some exotic animal from a far away land.

Im hoping our social skills isnt dependent on races though, of course with the exception of the inevitable racists that i'd love to encounter, im hoping we can still leave an impact on the nobility with just our words. Having a towering 7ft horned creature with the muscle mass of a gorilla just walk up and spark a sophisticated conversation is just intriguing to me, their reactions to their initial surprise would top it off

BUT

My real concern is....whether we can choose to dance with a companion of our choice!

I want my male qunari to awkwardly dance with Cassandra who is dancing just as awkwardly

This would be perfect!

Human will have an easier time due to being a noble

Then dwarf since most surface dwarves are merchants and some might even be wealthy and have thier own district ala kirkwal and tevinter

Qunari was be slightly difficult due to their rarity outside of Par Vollen. Many seem to be mercenaries. Will be treated with relative respect due to fear.

Elves will be treated with the most disdain for obvious reasons

I HOPE that someone will remark on how a Qunari dressed in frilly fancy clothes is ridiculous.

Stop hoping. The Inquisitor won't even be able to wear a dress to the ball, let alone frilly clothes.

That would be interesting as a brief cameo... although Vivienne is allied with Celene, isn't she?  I don't think she'd invite Gaspard...

Anyway, I think that would be cool since it would allow players to get a glimpse of the Empress, and maybe hear her speak a few lines... but it should also be established that the Inquisitor is just a simple merc at that point in the story and not worthy of actually speaking with her.  If they do attempt to speak to the Empress, I'd be in favor of them spending a night in the dungeon as punishment...

Let's all take a moment to appreciate the image of Iron Bull tearing up the dance floor.

I picture it looking like they were actually dancing but then you look down at their feet and notice the dwarf is being suspended 2 feet off the ground while Iron Bull has been carrying them the entire dance

If we get something like Malcolm's Bequest, it should do nicely.

Isnt their a screenshot of the inquisitor dancing with Celene while wearing a dress?
