I would prefer Celene not grow a beard.

She doesn't have to grow one, she just has to wear one. Think Hatshepsut.

Yeah, I hated this in Origins when my dalish elf bowed to King Cailan. I thought that was pretty odd.

I disliked that too, especially when a Dalish Warden can express hatred against humans in their origin but then automatically bow's to a human king

You mean not deliberately insult a person that has the authority to have your head removed from your shoulders, no questions asked?

Wardens are lucky Cailan is such a nice puppy, otherwise half the dialogue options would probably get them a game over screen.

I heard something about non-standard game overs this time around... I hope that this includes realistic consequences for making rude remarks to people well above the PC's station.

OMG. I sooooo hope this happens. Tired of all this nonsense about taking a wizz on the king's pants and then being congratulated for it.

If that woman with the short hair is Celene then Cailan must have been high when he thought of dumping Anora for her.

After seeing Anoras personality, i dont blame him for the consideration

I'm not sure you're ever really "above" the Inquisitor in a chain of command.

This is exactly the mindset I'm talking about...  the rulers of nations and the Divine are higher in status than any version of the Inquisitor.  The same is likely true for most nobles... although that's arguable I guess.

I look forward to it, it was funny seeing it in the Witcher 2

Yeah, I'm reminded of people getting upset that they couldn't become queen/prince-consort (or whatever) as a dwarf/elf/mage. "BUT I SAVED THE WORLD!!1" just doesn't cut it, amigos...

I doubt they are more important than only person in the world that can save the world thedas would have to be suicidally stupid to act this way.

The inquisition has never been a part of any chain of command, they're similar to a police force, it doesnt matter what social class or authoritative figure you may be, if you're doing wrong, they'll seek the truth...hence why they later became the seekers of truth

Well, I guess we'll have to wait until Inquisition to find out just how much authority the PC has.  It's not like I have any evidence that we don't have unlimited authority... it just sounds odd considering the powerful armies and vast wealth that rulers tend to have at their command...  but who knows, maybe the Inquisitor will still be able to boss them around or make demands by threatening to not save the world with their glowing hand.

Yes, they would have to be suicidally stupid to mess with the Inquisitor. However, they really kinda are that stupid.

For people in power, having the world saved while losing their status is an equally bad result. Getting torn down by the masses isn't much better than getting torn apart by demons.

I'm guessing humans really got the edge since they are a Marcher and not a Ferelden.

There is no mortal status above literal ****ing messiah.

If some duke or baron would like a demonstration of how adjustable their perceived status truly is, they can be my guest.

That really depends on how respected Ostwick is, though. Which we don't really know anything about. 'Marcher' can kinda mean a variety of things.

Ugh... can you imagine trying to deal with Orlesian nobles as a Ferelden?  o.O

By my estimation they are half a step above elves at best.

You're not the barely washed upstarts who kicked out Orlais and are on the "to be conquered" list, so it seems like a start.

To be honest i have to give you point for that as this is quite common in that setting after templars presentation in demo i won't be pretty much suprised by anything.

Well getting torn down by the masses is one thing listening to guy who is only chance for survival another as even worse scenario in second case isn't as bad as best scenario in first demon case.

True enough. You'd be treated better than you were if you were a Fereldan, anyway, but how much remains to be seen.

I've always been under the impression that Orlesians don't have a particularly high opinion of anybody.

They don't even like each other. I wouldn't be surprised if they treat everyone in an equally (or almost equally) dismissive manner for not being, basically, Gaspard, but I do think Fereldan's are lower on the insult totem pole.

Yeah, that's exactly the sort of bullshit that should get your PC hung without a goddamn combat encounter. Tired of all this 'But I'm the PC rules don't apply to me!' bullpucky. Everyone recognizes that running around as a mage, let alone a blood mage, in Kirkwall with impunity is ridiculous. Yet everyone seems to think you can just walk up to the Archduke of WhatEverPlaceYouAreIn and take a dump on his diner-plate and get away with it.

Forget the human/elf/dwarf/qunari support threads. We need a support thread for those who believe the PC shouldn't be an entitled snowflake piece of excrement who can run roughshod over all social conventions <_<
