why does she gets so much hate? because she is a Mary-Sue?

Short answer:  Yes.  MotA was a short DLC with a set plot with few variables that had to be resolved with as little to-do as possible.  They did that.  There were some cool puzzles and a couple tough fights and the scenery was nice.  There was probably some background info for DAI in there.  With an extravagantly condensed format, I guess they did what they had to do to get the plot to go where they wanted it to.  It left a whole lot of people flat.  I don't hate Tallis because of how nothing changed anything.  There were a few achievements to be had and you got a cool belt.  I just want to be able to leave that Mary Sue in the cell to break her own way out next time, since she's so good at it.  Bonus points if I get to visit her later in jail and throw fruit at her.  She will be back, probably arm in arm with Leliana.

The ending doesn't have to vary but if it's fixed it had to be logical for it to be fixed. In the DLC she literally takes the list out of your hand while you stare slack jawed.

For that, I would not know; never sided against her in any session. And MotA was a welcome break from Blood Mages and Kirkwall; enjoyed the banter and humor, too.

If you do, she basically just goes *yoink* while Hawke stares as if (s)he were a yokel.

Yeah, the inability to side against her and have that mean something is easily the most annoying feature of MotA. I dislike that she out-badasses Hawke to such a ridiculous degree but I can live with it. Compared with the inability to take the list or at least prevent Tallis from taking it, it's small fry.

I think it's a safe bet that we'll see her again. I don't necessarily want to kill her - after all, the Inquisitor wouldn't have a reason to do that per se - but if she's still an agent for the qunari I want to thoroughly thwart her plans.

Tallis is obnoxious, but I find Iron Bull worse, given that he seems to expect to be allowed to join the Inquisition and still continue reporting to his handlers. Which should, by all rights, earn him immediate death.

As for Tallis... well, again, I'm not fond of qunari spies.

Some people don't like her face, some don't like her voice, some don't like the fact that she's portrayed by Felicia Day, some don't like the fact she's Qunari, some don't like the fact that they can't kill and stick her head on a pike...the list goes on.

I've actually found the bolded to be mostly the other way around. most of the people who dislike Tallis (myself included) couldn't care less that she is portrayed by Felicia Day.

Tallis supporters/defenders however, seem to include a great many Felicia Day fans, especially on Youtube. People seem to take complaints about Tallis as a personal attack on Felicia herself.

As for my own reasoning as to why I dislike Tallis, it's mostly because she feels like a huge mary sue/self insert (mainly because she is) and it leads to her character being hypocritical, not making sense and always one-upping the protagonist.

I'm still shocked that MoTA was written by Bioware, as it feels like someone won a competition to get their fanfic made into a dlc.

But you have the choice to not allow IB to join the Inquisition because of that very reason.

Felicia Day is cool I just don't like her character, Tallis -- It's quite terrible.

They are one and the same.

I hate that Hawke has to allow Tallis to take the scroll. If you didn't side with her in the first place, it really makes no sense to not even have the option. At this point, it seems more in-character to just not do MotA.

No, but the character traits in Tallis is definitely following a recurring pattern. Buffy and that Supernatural nonsense, for instance -- I liked her as Veronica in NV though and she seems like a generally cool person to me. She just isn't cut out for writing characters.

If I remember right, he also says he'll allow the Inquisitor access to the Qunari spy network reports.

some of the story do not make sense in DA.

anyway, i think since we have no option to take the scroll from her, it is likely she will be back. maybe to start a Qunari war?

Well I'm not a Tallis Fan either. She was a little bit too much of a mary sue type. New everyone and everything and so on.

But I like Felica Day and so far she didn't tweet about having a role in the upcoming game. And I hope her character won't return.

There are other elven rogues I would rather see but if she's coming back I hope we don't have to go her way and let us be fooled by her again.

A doubt that Tallis is a danger. We have Iron Bull who can report to the qunari if we allow it, so why would she be a treat?

but this would increase the amount of qunari in the game by one, not a worthy endevour

She does seem to be type cast, but that does not appear to be her fault, but that of those creating the roles. She also writes, produces, sings, and plays the violin; has apparently far more range than what is seen on the screen.

One of the main issues is that MotA set up a scenario with a perceived choice and then yanked that choice right away from the player with for no logical reason. If you refuse your character is supposed to be trying to leave but ends up on the top of the mountain where stuffs going down somehow anyway.

My issues with Tallis come down to her constantly going on and on about how great the Qun is when she herself is ignoring the Qun by taking on a personal mission that the Qunari leadership didn't want done. She is a constant hypocrite throughout the dlc but Hawke is never allowed to call her out on it because he because Hawke is written as a complete drooling moron throughout the entire quest line.

This is somewhat incorrect, as I recall Hawke can call her out on a few occasions, though I am uncertain what comes of those options.

But Tallis being hypocritical of the Qun is rather appealing to me, as almost every single example besides actual heretics are more fanatical to the cause, and I enjoy the idea that the Qun is based more on culture and philosophy rather than brainwashing and coercion.

I don't see why not.  Felicia Day is quite popular in the gaming circle, and the character's story is still unfinished.

I just hope they don't try to cash in on Felicia's popularity again and give it to us as DLC, I'd rather Tallis just show up in the game

They could cash in on hatred for the character and have her only be killable in a DLC

Best part is, this happened after people spent months complaining about the main game's ending where no matter which choice you make, you end up fighting and killing the same bosses for no reason. It's like Bioware decided to double down [coughtrollcough] on a bad idea just to make sure people really hated it.

If that's true then It's possible that we could see a report from Tallis.
