All city elves have American accents. It's weird, but that's the precedent.
And Mark Meer voiced the Experienced Male Elf in Origins and Jethann in DA2, so there's also few Canadian Elves floating around in Thedas...

I agree that MoTA should have had more ending options. I wasn't aware that Tallis was unkillable until coming here, since I helped and used the flirt options because I found that story path amusing.
the fact that she is unkillable makes me think the devs were planning something else for her and we'll see her again eventually.

They may have planned something for her,but the response from at least one part of the fanbase was pretty virtriolic. I'm not sure they'll bring her back.

Some part of the fanbase is always vitriolic about something, nothing new there. Tallis did receive some hate, sure - but a lot of players liked her, as well.
I expect her to be brought back, but I'm hoping for more freedom in the choices of whatever events she's involved in and our reactions towards her.

My "hate" towards that character started when I noted how my freedom loving blood mage was forced to help a qunari enforcer. I know, you can choose "not to help" but you still end up helping her anyway. I would have taken that list and used it. Instead my pc got a trinket thrown at him like a bone to a dog.

I think that's more bad design than a Tallis problem.

I agree with In Exile, it seems more of a design problem in general than specifically Tallis one.
Here's how not to help her: don't buy the DLC.
Or if you do, don't ever do it.
There, Hawke never meets Tallis or refuses her initial offer to steal the Heart of the Many.

Hate to say it, but it does happen regardless of you buying the DLC or not Hawke meet Tallis.
Hawke also did the Legacy DLC these are stories happened, much like the events in Kirkwall.
You can't kill her because FD still needs to write bad fanfiction about her selfinsert.
I'm just so disgruntled because my Hawke was a big fan of the Qunari, but Tallis was insufferably childish ("Why would I trust you after you've already lied to me once?" "Because... I've got your nose!" I almost turned off my console, ugh) and all of MotA felt really terribly designed. It doesn't help that I abhor Felicia Day. Even being able to kill her wouldn't make a cameo in Inquisition worthwhile; let's just forget she ever existed.
I really wish the aggressive Hawke option was:
Hawke: Unless you want to play "I've got your liver,", I need something better.
And Mark Meer voiced the Experienced Male Elf in Origins and Jethann in DA2, so there's also few Canadian Elves floating around in Thedas...
I'm not much of an M!Shep fan, but I'm certainly a Meer fan with how easily he can turn his voice into different characters and I can't even tell.

I know what you mean.
He's on the credits for DAI too, but not sure who he's playing yet.

I think Meer is phenomenal as Shepard. He plays exactly what a Bioware silent protagonist with sound like with the bland and emotionless dialogue Bioware writes for the PC. Jennifer Hale has a more emotive performance, but I actually think that's less consistent with Shepard's blandness.

I could've sworn that I read somewhere that Tallis was actually Bioware's idea. Something about her being a scrapped companion idea that they decided to go through with anyway through Felicia Day and Redemption.
Redemption wasn't that great either way. It was plagued by the same lore problems that everything not directly made by someone at Bioware (excluding the lady who wrote Last Flight) has had.
That said, I think Tallis is gonna appear again. Probably not in Inquisition though. When the inevitable game with a heavier Qunari presence rolls around, she'd certainly provide an interesting viewpoint on whatever was happening. Hawke's journal practically YELLS at us saying that Tallis is going to reappear someday. Therefore, if we never see her again, I'd be very surprised.
True. I also have a problem with Tallis "loveable and funny" enforcer who kills everyone who opposes the qun' character. Everything Tallis represents is against my main pc's character and what he believes inI think that's more bad design than a Tallis problem.
But she was kicked out of the enforcers. She's on this mission to get the list of her own will, going against the Qunari who are doing nothing to stop it from falling into the wrong hands.
If they make her killable, I would be OK with her re-appearing.

I disagree, the whole point of these games is to tailor our own story. Sure BW have a canon story but that doesn't mean you have to go by it. I never do Lair of the Shadow Broker and thus my canon story is that Liara never saved my Shep and managed to save her friend and become Shadow Broker on her own. This canon is reaffirmed by Liara in ME3 who tells a different story of how she became the broker. So yeah you can just ignore the DLCs.
However, the advice to not buy them is too little too late when a person buys it as a DLC and have no idea that their character is just going to be standing around like an idiot the entire time.

This is DA2, Hawke story has happened, Hawke found the idol, fought Qunari, Fought and freed Cyrop. went to the party with Talis and killed Prosper and fought in the mage templar war in Kirkwall. These events happen regardless of you play the DLC or not, there are some minor choices you can do along the way, but the story have pretty much the same narrative.

Or the right hands *wink*
