By kowtowing, I mean that when people point at you and say, "YOU! YOU OFFEND ME!" someone who kowtows will hastily apologize and change their ways, and adopt the viewpoints of the person shouting in their ear--rather than standing back and viewing the issue neutrally.

All you need to do is step back and look at things from a distance. I'm not trying to tell you to go one way or the other. All I'm saying is to examine things carefully before you pick where you stand on it.

Uhm, why? I'm not going to claim to have never offended anyone with relation to anything, that would be ridiculous, but specifically along the lines of their sexuality? It's not something I talk about with people very often.

Do you remember not so long ago, "gay" was a go-to insult for something bad, unlikable, stupid, etc.? And I'm supposed to believe that you NEVER got sucked into that trend?

I don't like insulting people very much. It wouldn't have occurred to me to say it rather than not spend my time around the thing I found uninteresting.

I was aware of it, but by the time it was around my approach to getting along with other people had 13-14 years of momentum behind it. I didn't go around calling things gay or uncool or whatever other words people were using. If someone was extremely annoying and I couldn't walk away; like wouldn't leave you alone after being asked, physically shrinking away from them to try to get them to leave annoying; the other girls would bring their boyfriends over and they'd leave after that.

Just not seen a lot of mileage out of being mean to people.
 

Also, you never got annoyed with one of those caricatures? You never got annoyed with a gay person, and said something offensive? Never? Not once?

Not merely on account that they were gay, and definitely not with me trying to use their orientation as a weapon against them, no. It's just that person's style, if I feel it's grating I won't spend much time around them.

How 'bout this one: if a politically correct lesbian corners you and you're playing a male character, turn around to them and say that you're a lesbian trapped in a man's body. Now since they're politically correct then they have to have sex with you or you can call them out for being bigoted and not understanding your circumstances. Once I went into a lesbian bar and they said "what r u doin ere?" and I was all like "yo i'ma lesbian trapped in a man's body" and I got laid with several different women that night. Moral of the story: going to Church every Sunday gets you laid.

 

I was ignorant when I was a kid up to 17-18 years of age. I've been guilty of using the slang, but usually in a different context like for example calling people gay when they used an overpowered strategy to beat me in Age of Mythology. It was a big thing back in the day (it may still be, not sure).

 

In that sense "gay" doesn't mean homosexual, it means loser. It's the same way f*g**t is now used by people to describe someone who is a douchebag and not someone who is actually gay. I've used the insult f*g**t and I've even seen gay people using it against random people before on YouTube. I'm sorry but there is something sublime about that insult, it just rolls off of your tongue perfectly and has a "umph" to it when used. In fact the insult has become an adjective for other insults! lol

 

In any case I don't think using the term "gay" as an insult makes you ignorant of sexuality. It's an immature term to use sure but not ignorant or discriminatory. I suppose you can say it'll offend gays because you're using a term that's used for them to describe something negative (therefore you're likening their sexuality to something negative) but I honestly don't see many people even caring anymore nowadays. Most people who use the word "gay" to insult are mostly children anyway so most people just ignore them.

most of us are raised to FALSE beliefs about sexuality and sex in general, no one tells u that guys can like and be intimate with other guys or girls liking other girls in a sexual manner ...etc etc

 

as humans we like to keep things neat and complex free.. sadly a human individual is as complex as a universe in itself and trying to label people is like trying to tell water molecules in the ocean where to go

Seriously though, I have displayed bigotry against males and females equally. Most Females think they can rule the world, That everyone and everything should run after them, Not the opposite. And Most men are confused, Driven by hormones and superficiality. It's rare to find a person of substance. I tend to stay neutral towards everyone until they mess with me.

P.S: Glad to see one of these threads not created by Tarek or Bunz. This is a serious issue and a good material for debate on the forums.

in a population numbering 1 million if 10-5% are gay is not a huge number and thus they can be ignored or marginalized ... like religious minorities or scientiests ... sorry WITCHES and WIZARDS back in the days...

 

but when that number reaches 20 billion.... gay men and women in an age where people go to mars for vacation and mine the lunar surface for resources such numbers will be in the BILLIONS if not more and that my friend is NOT a minority
