I never really understood where most of Thedas' nations stood on homosexuality.

In origins, when Zevran asked you if you were insulted after complimenting the male Warden, or when Leliana asked you if you thought it was weird for her to find a female PC pretty, I sorta got the feeling that it was frowned upon, somewhat. However, none of the other companions or characters ever remark on your PC's orientation.

The in DA2, you have to save one of Anders' past lovers and the fact that he's a man isn't mentionned. There's also the thing with Seamus (The viscount's son) and Ashaad the Qunari who have an implied sexual relationship, there again, nobody mentionned it.

Is sexual orientation really not an issue in a world where people are persecuted for having pointy ears or cool magic powers?

I'd think that The Chantry, The Qunari or the Tevinters have an opinion on the matter. Or even the Human Nobles for that matter, who might not want heirs that couldn't give them children.

Although I can see the Antivans, the Dalish or maybe the Tal-Vashoth being more open minded.

As a homosexual male it's a topic i'm interested in and I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter? Have you spotted hints or remarks that I didnt?

Think it might come up now that we have two companions that identify as gay?

The existence of the lines from Zevran and Anders makes me believe that homosexual relations in Thedas aren't quite so accepted as the codex may lead one to believe, or perhaps more likely, that it was pandering to the straight bro gamer.

It means that the lack of general homophobia in a cultural sense does not mean there is not still the possibility of homophobia in the individual. Thedas does not lack for bigots, sexists, and generally disagreeable people who could potentially take "that's kind of weird" to new and exciting levels.
