Honestly, I just go with what looks good to me and roll with it. I also made a male Qunari that looks pretty good and I managed to recreate my first Hawke (m!Hawke mage) with no issues.
Apparently I suck at making female humans with DA:I's CC because I tried to recreate my first f!Hawke (rogue) and completely screwed up the cheeks, chin, and jaw. I don't plan on making a f!Trevelyan any time soon, so I guess I'll have to practice with my f!Hawkes to get to where I can make them look at least the way they did in DA2.
I make sure to check the frontal and side views on my PCs faces as I adjust everything, which helps me decide whether or not I need to adjust anything further. The only time I didn't do that was on my first playthrough of ME2, and my Shep looked..... odd. Always made a point to check my PC's face from different angles in the CC after that.
tbh, I only spent a half hour at most in DA:I's CC and I kind of felt like I was rushing it a bit at the time. It does take some time to adjust to the new stuff in the CC, but I'm quick to adjusting to new stuff, so it wasn't much of an issue for me.
I can't really provide much advice because I don't really know why it's so easy for me to use the CC in the first place. Sorry I'm not much help.
One of my friends asked me if I used mods to make my f!Dalish Inquisitor, though. I have to admit, I felt pretty good to hear that my Inquisitor looked like she was made using mods, considering how the modded characters I've seen look pretty damn good. ![]()
