Anyone know if there will be a midnight release for Inquisition? Has anyone checked with their local game shops? Do you have to pre-order to get a copy at a midnight release?

Doesn't the digital edition unlock at midnight PST?

Does it? I always get the hard copies of Bioware games.

I'm going to ask this a couple days before release in my game store, but I doubt it. They didn't even do it for destiny (not that i needed it at midnight, but still...), so I doubt they'll do it for DAI.

I do the same, but i just order them from amazon. so i can make sure they show up on that Tuesday.

 

But i would assume GameStop would do a midnight release for it, i think GTA V for the next gen comes out the same night. but idk.

This is probably the only game where I would care to do so, so I'm kind of hoping there is, though I doubt it.

I talked to the owner of the  game store I preordered my game at, and he said it would depend on how many customers have the game ordered.

I would love to go to one, even though my preorder is with GameStop and there aren't any more of their physical stores in this country, but my local games store said it wasn't a big enough release. They've only done them for CoD, FIFA and Destiny so far this year. :/

Farcry 4 comes out the same day.... Gamestop will likely have a midnight release for one of the two games.  If they were to choose Farcry, that doesn't mean you can't show up to try to get DAI.  And if you did, they couldn't claim DAI isn't in stock, because it's supposed to be on the shelves ~8 hours later...

I'm guessing they will do this at only certain locations and not every single Gamestop or perhaps other game retailers.  They did it for DA2 and ME3, so I'm guessing there is a very good chance.  I already purchased a hard copy from Gamestop, so if the location doesn't have a midnight opening there, I'll just have to wait until the next day. 

 

I've never been to a midnight opening, but they seem a bit hectic.  Should be funny to witness. If I lived in Canada and some of the DA team were there, I'd go for sure.

There's a few AAA titles releasing on the same day. I would assume there is going to be a midnight release for at least one of them.

I believe GameStop will have a midnight release. They had one for DA2. I always call and ask a few days before release, just to make sure.

I plan on getting it at midnight, even though I'll probably only have enough time to create a character before I have to go to bed... unless I call in to work, which I'd say is a pretty big possibility.

I've already been to gamestop what... 3 times now asking this same question. The answer I always get is "we don't know yet" I when I really prod, "it depends on how many people pre order at this location, we won't know until a couple of weeks beforehand." but the higher ups never tell their employees anything.

I havent asked, but it would be my local store anyways, being friends with the higher up....the manager helps to get that kind of answer.

I assume with having more than one game, they do tend to do midnight releases where Im at. Albiet, Im working so wont matter. I will have to wait, if I dont take the 18th off. I wont get it till 19th. I think they would do midnight release.

The game unlocks the 20th of november at 0:00, you can preload the game 17th of november. 

 

I really hope they do a midnight release in stores. It's awesome to see on the news how fans are waiting in line. As for me, I will be asleep at 0:00, dreaming about playing the game : )

Depends on where you live. In the US, it's the 18th. I can actually preload the game on November 14th at 11am. Not trying to start an argument or anything, just wanting to clarify for other people that might be reading.

they do it at my gamestop or at least I think they still do.  I remember going for midnight release for either me3 or skyrim and they set up a projector and large screen for street fighter.  It was like a nerd party in an empty parking lot of target.

No, I understand it.. It is odd that we all have differernt times to preload and play the game.
