The game ships in about a month.

Why hasn't BioWare said what this is yet?

I expected to hear something by now, too. Thing is, not knowing the nature of the DLC makes it difficult to speculate on the when and why.

It'll be a couple of Multiplayer chest packs. Same as the bonus DLC in the collector's guide. This is pretty much like it was in ME3.

I haven't pre-ordered it yet just for this reason.

I need to know that what I get is good, I'm not gonna pre-order something where I don't even know what I get for it.

The marketing team probably told them not too. They are probably, stalling as long as possible: because there is still the possibility they could make sales from people who are not interested in the announced dlc, or MP. By keeping it a mystery from those people, they still might buy the special edition 'just in case' they miss something awesome. But if they revealed that it was an MP pack early, than they would lose those sales.

I can't see any other reason that  they haven't revealed the info yet.

I don't understand this thinking...

So if the "bonus digital content" is not good, you are not going to pre-order it (which mean no bonus content or the "Flames of Inquisition" gear) but you ARE going to purchase the game regardless?

That is a completely rational reason.  I understand that.  That was not implied in his comment though.

Everyone is wondering the same thing.

It's probably safe to say it's MP-related, though. Would also explain why they never announced it along with the DE.

Yeah, I am eagerly awaiting information on this. You would think they would want to get the info out ASAP to boost pre-orders and get fans excited.

Wait, where has it been confirmed that the bonus DLC in the collector's guide is a couple of multiplayer chest packs?!?

Is that just speculation? I was gonna buy it solely for the bonus DLC, but if that's all it is, then I'll pass...

I was hoping for some more customization options for Skyhold or, even better, MORE CASUAL CLOTHING OPTIONS TO WEAR IN SKYHOLD.

The fact that we only get one outfit when Shepherd in ME:3 got like 5 is qunaricrap!

I do agree that it is most likely just some Multiplayer packs like what we saw in ME3 MP. I think if they had created or designated any unique assets for promotional DLC, we would have heard about it by now.

That's so lame/unoriginal. They're already going to sell the DAMP chests as a microtransaction... if I wanted to buy them, I easily could do so in-game.

Bonus DLC should be special!

Bioware is very shortsighted... do they not realize they would make a TON more money if they released more hair/outfit choices for our Inquisitor??? That's what people want!

If my female Inquisitor can't wear an Orlesian dress (or, better yet, a bad ass Tevinter dress...) at the ball, I'm going to be rather perturbed... I hated when my fem Hawke had to wear freaking PANTS during the party in the courtyard in MotA...

And you are making a huge assumption that he is going to buy the game regardless of what is in DLC. He said no such thing. Plus if you're going to be spending a premium for a game, why would you want to pay for something you don't want? Don't you think that the price will go down after a year or so? All we really know is that he is uncommitted to pre ordering if the game doesn't have what he wants in the game.

Agreed that its probably MP stuff.

I havent pre-ordered yet either. Though thats mainly because i think the standard game is too expensive on PC in the UK. Just because its on next gen, doesnt mean you have to jack up the PC price :(

Sad thing is, i'll probably cave in and buy it anyway :(

In my opinion, ANY Bioware game is worth the price - even if it was $100 per game.

The way I see it, I'm paying like a dollar per hour of content... the fact that the game is able to entertain me for 50+ hours is a pretty damn good investment. Certainly better than paying $10 to go so a 2 hour movie! And the re-playability factor makes Bioware games a great investment. But that's just my 2 cents!

Anyone who thinks that Bioware has held back info, hasn't been paying attention to breaking Inquisition news that sometimes seems to come out weekly. Spoilers absolutely do not bother me, but some of you really need to chill out.

Whining about not having been told every little scrap of prerelease info in the wake of the massive amount of stuff that Bioware has already generously shared with us in the last few months is just wrong!

There's a difference in being privy to in-game knowledge and extra content you're paying for should you buy the Deluxe Edition.

Yup, this. Not quite the same thing. Folks have a right to know exactly what's included in the edition they're paying extra for.

So wait. This bonus is going to be different from the bog unicorn and giant reindeer one and is that one different from the one where you get the tarot cards? Where's the option where you can just get everything? Except the cards because Jesus did not see fit to have me be born in the land of the free.

EA may be doing all that preorder stuff--Bioware may not even KNOW, at this point, what the extra goodies are supposed to be, which would make a lot of sense if it winds up being stuff like coupons for cosmetic gear in OTHER EA games--or just outright coupons for other EA games.  Which they could totally do.

I knew that smart alec's might take exception to my own post, so I limited any potentially caustic remarks to "chill out" and "whining," but the fact is that any deluxe collectors edtion is going to be expensive when compared to the regular game.

In their solicitation Bioware did list that in addition to the base game, the following content would be available with their deluxe edition: Mounts (specifically Red Hart Halla, Bog Unicorn) plus an Armored Mount with its own set of Inquisition armor. Various Item packs. Flames of the Inquisition armory. Flames of the Inquisition Weapons Arsenal DLC, including: A staff for mages. Daggers and a bow for rogues A shield, a greatsword and a war hammer for warriors. Flames of the Inquisition Armor - an armor set for the Inquisitor. The Skyhold Throne. And a Digital soundtrack.

If that content was not enought to convince someone to purchase the item, they threw in a notation that additional bonus digital content would later be announced. I would argue that "folks who had a right to know exactly what's included in the edition that they were paying extra for" had been given the information some time ago, minus a somewhat minor (and yet nitpicking detail) over what actual - BONUS - digitial content that ultimately proved to be.
