As a man who can only grow hair on his chin, I really need me some big bushy beastly beards in this game.

The beard at exactly half way between 1:35 & 1:36 in this character creation video:

That is the one I want… only on a bald dwarven warrior. We'll see if there are more or less awesome options for dwarves than for humans, I guess. BTW, I'm kinda inept at this; can anyone tell me how to upload a screenshot from my laptop of that moment in the video?

I wonder if all the races will share the beards. We already have seen quite many humans have. Though if I remember right elves can't have beards at all? I wonder about qunari, I'd like to have some nice white beard for mine.

I believe qunari can grow beards. I just hope you can give them beards in the CC. Of all the male qunari inquisitor pics none of them had any beards if I recall correctly, so I'm slightly worried about that.

The Qunari dude in Mark of The Assassin (Salit?) had facial hair, so they can definitely grow it, and I really hope the option is there for our Qunari Inquisitors.

But outside of Salit, no ingame Qunari ever had facial hair, so that doesn't prove all Qunari can. It only proves that one potentially mongrel Qunari could. and maybe that was just an artistic license that strayed too far from the actual lore.

Qunari Inquisitors can have beards. There was a beard slider in one of the screenshots, and one of the ones they showed had some stubble.

Nope, no beards for elves.
I do wonder whether human/dwarven/qunari fellas will have the same options, though. Weren't they different in Origins? I seem to recall dwarves having much more impressive beardage in general.

I think I remember dwarven beards having more braids… I'm not the biggest fan of braids, but they're alright I suppose.

There are two types of people that don't have beards. Women and Children.

Glad to see non-ornate dwarf beards. I have no casteless with beards in Origins, I find it hard to believe the coterie gives you 45min. a day to braid your hair.

I highly doubt dwarves braid their beards everyday - it's not like a woman treats the hair on her head. They braid their beards, leave it in until it gets so smelly that everyone complains, continue to leave it in for a good while longer (because they hardly seem the type to care about being a bit smelly), then eventually wash and re-braid it a few weeks following that. Hell, as the Inquisitor (or Chosen of Andraste), the party members just have suffer through it. ![]()
Therefore, the more ornate the beards, the better. Sadly, the entire selection of beards from the latest vid is pretty impoverished when it comes to braids. Pity. ![]()
Here is the vid (for those who missed it):
EDIT to say: also, I found it kind of funny how they go to show the female beards, and I'm preparing myself for some nice flowing styles (as I would for male dwarves, who also lucked out quite a bit), and it turns out like..
Me: 'stubble, stubble, stubble, stubble, stubble.. stubble, stubble.. (beard would be nice anytime now).. stubble, stubble.. and stubble.'
And then they quickly finish and move on.
So here we have two fine gentleman who are narrating with beards of various cultivations, and they are actually deigning to call stubble 'beards'. Come on, they could have said, 'Here are 20 styles of stubble to show that dwarven females are quite bad at getting a clean shave. Oh, you were expecting a beard? In the 'beards' slider?!'
I sort of feel like Bioware don't understand why those who want a beard on their dwarven female actually want a beard but --if they're anything like me-- it's not for stubble.
Anyway. I'm done lamenting my beardless female dwarves (and again, just speaking for myself here - this is one of only very few gripes I have). ![]()

It just seemed like a huge hastle for someone who lives in a slum. After becoming a Warden, or Inquisitor, I'm sure they have enough time to get a nice wash, comb out the bones etc.
But yeah, female dwarves don't even have styled stubble (light having into a goatee or similar) Apparently they can not shave their entire life and grow a good 1/4 inch of bristle.
