DarkUFO was covering Lost spoilers. Some fans had asked Lindelof if the show was about aliens, or purgatory (were they dead). He said something to the effect that the latter would be lame. And then it ended up being the latter.
The things that bothered me the most about the Lost ending was;
1: Why does the Flash-Sideways Universe/Purgatory have no supernatural elements, but the real world does?
2: In "Happily Ever After", Desmond was exposed to a huge solenoid coil and somehow experienced events in the Flash SIdeways universe. If we're supposed to believe that the FSU is Purgatory, then this is presumably a Near-Death Experience. However, this explanation still doesn't explain why he doesn't enter the afterlife as himself in the present, instead waking up in the body of his future self, who died and ended up in limbo? And how does he retain knowledge of what he was doing, in the future, after he dies?
3: Why does Sayid end up with Shannon as his soul-mate, when we've repeatedly established that his one true love is and always was Nadia?
4: Who or what are all the children that various characters possess in the FSU, if they're not really alive? What happens to Jack's son after he moves on?
Yeah... was the writer of this episode really the guy best suited to making the Prometheus script less confusing?
