It adds a bit of fictional realism, which I enjoy.... sort of.
I'd like to disagree- Yeah, elves can have contempt for humans, but my Inquisitor isn't just any human. After everything that happens, all my gifts, all my campanionship, there shouldn't be racism. I'm a mistreated elf with contempt for humans, not a member of the masons.
But i suppose i retract my statement.. it could add realism to the game.

I doubt it has anything to do with elves being mistreated, Solas is very centered on his elvish heritage and history. Plus you add in the fact that any non elf he mates with will not have an elf child. It fits with his character.
I could see that.
He grew up in a village, not sure if it was a predominantly elven village... We'll see in 6 weeks I suppose

It's not just Solas, but the entire Elven Race.
Remember Soris, the cousin of the City Elf Warden? He marries a Human Woman after the 5th Blight, and causes quite a rucus in the Alienage.
I wonder if we'll ever see him again... that'd be interesting. I think they had children too.
