I really haven't given Dragon age a fair chance yet. I just have so little time and usually find myself playing Destiny. I'm hooked on the hamster wheel.
I'm also currently watching the Game of Thrones series. We watch like 1 show every 4 days to draw it out. Amazing show!
For the first time? If so, I foresee a lot of pain, rage and anxiety.

Can't get enough of the DAI atm. Spend almost all of my holiday playing it (both mp and sp). Currently have 60 hours in the sp and it feels I'm just scraped the surface, it's so awesome. Killed my first dragon yesterday 
^Niice, I am still yet to kill a dragon. I've had some attempts, but none of those ended well.
Kaxas, I'm midway through season 2. Brianne with the bear! Yeah it's quite the thrilling show. No spoilers 
^Of course not. A friend spoiled that [REDACTED] will die, and I raged so hard... I thought that what I was seeing couldn't have not happened, maybe it was just a f'd up dream... But nope. After that episode, I rage quit the show... for two weeks, lol. Since then, I'm ready for anything.
Ha, anything. Yeah, someone told me everybody dies. I'm still hoping certain characters don't.. but I'm expecting the worst.

By the way Pres, make sure that you don't start the GoT game just yet (if you're planning to, that is). It starts with a pretty major event (and that's an understatement) from later in the series, that you didn't see yet.

I went ahead and tried rumble instead. haha. 0 for 5. Came in second though once. If you want to be reminded how much you need to l2p, play rumble. Perhaps a less competitive DAI SP is in order tonight. For whatever reason, I'm still on a Destiny kick.. maybe residual zeal after that Iron Banner week?

PS any of you guys play Clash of Clans? I'm part of my bro-in-law's clan that takes it pretty seriously but has a good time..let me know if anybody is interested. It's definitely a long-lasting game with a hell of a grind (our top guy has been playing for 1.5 years and isn't maxed out..). So we mass effect/dragon age players should fit right in. I've been playing since January and have been enjoying it so far!

Short answer - no, nothing has changed, if you didn't like it back then you're not very likely to like it now. It's more stable now but iirc wasn't the technical issues that made you quit. And some convinience stuff that makes playing the game and managing inventory much less of a wade in general but 'twasn't the dlc that added those.
The new map is terrible for reaver/katari too. They need to buff grappling chain so it drags the entire spawn to you rather than one guy, that'd be more like it.
Dragon battle, well, not really impressed.
Did not play any of the new characters.
