I'd love to see mod tools, however I don't think we should expect them. I'm anticipating system requirements and maybe graphical features that take advantage of PC hardware.

^This.

I would be beyond surprised if part of the news was that they added more than eight hotkeys into the PC version. It wouldn't make any sense. As someone who is not a PC user and therefore not interested in  PC specifics, I'm hoping that part of the PC news (other than the specs) is some gameplay footage of the PC UI in acton, just so I can see some new gameplay footage ;) Or anything that's more for the game in general just being shown from a PC point of view

Otherwise toolset, console commands or whatever (not going to even pretend I understand half of it) you guys are hoping for I'm hoping for for you!

Pc requirements, but I assume that it's more likely that they partnered up with Nvidia for some special graphic things, you know just like they did with Batman. Read that the new driver will be compatible with DAI, a bit odd for a game that's suppose to be released next month.

It's far more likely that they partnered with AMD actually, since DAI supports Mantle and Bioware has a history of partnering with AMD.

DAKeep isn't exclusively for the PC only though is it?

People with serious arachnophobia appreciate mods, I don't use those..I tend to just run away from spiders, but my sister for instance, can't even bear to look at them, she had a mod in Origins which turned them into pink..somethings, I'm not quite sure what they were... but she was very grateful for that, without it there's no way she would have been able to play.  People really do underestimate the fear some people have of those 8 legged bastards.

Could also be true, I think it has to be something about the graphics. I mean what else would be different from other platforms like ps4 and xbox? (except the hotkeys)

I'd like a character creator released early for PC users to mess around with. Helped with the waiting for DA:O.

A high-res texture pack would be awesome.

I really don't think we will get a toolset announcement, but the little optimist inside of me is hoping it will eventually happen one day. I send all my positive  vibes to the BioWare Gods, if anyone can pull off a toolset deal for Frostbite, its you! Do it for the love you will get! Think of the love!!!

I doubt a texture pack is necessary, since the current-gen console have enough RAM for highres-textures.

regarding the toolset: There was an AMA one or two week ago with a Ex-DICE Dev, who worked on the Frostbite-Team. According to him, it's almost impossible to create mod-tools or even work with the engine outside of EA. That's the reason why they won't licence FB to other studios.

As long as they're better optimized than the Shadow of Mordor ones... >.>

6GB VRAM for Ultra setting seemed a bit too much.

I don't have any problems with installed ultra textures and my 4 GB R9 290. There is no visible stuttering or long loading times.

And a toolset will never happen. Armaggedon is more more likely than a release of the toolset.

Cameron Lee @Cameron__Lee

Some cool @DragonAge PC news coming out this week. Stay tuned! #DAI

User

OMG system requirements?

Cameron Lee @Cameron__Lee

There's a series of things we'll talk about this week, spec's are one of them.

Well that's nice and all, and I know that there are players waiting for the specs, but I'd hardly call it "cool PC news." Hopefully there is more to it than that.

I had to lolz this...go check out dragon age nexus!

Read the person's post again. They didn't say that there are zero Dragon Age mods, they compared it to the output that was produced for Neverwinter Nights with the Aurora Toolset, on which the DAO toolset is based. They are absolutely correct. The amount of mods and additional story modules available for NWN is near Skyrim territory in the tens of thousands, dwarfing the available content for DAO and DA2 combined. The Neverwinter Vault was, and still is, the best place to get them. The Nexus is great, but it's the new kid on the block compared to the NWVault.

So the people at Bioware work really hard for nearly 4 years, crafting an awesome game, and the first thing people ask for is a toolset to change what they have worked so hard to create? Even before they've played the game???
WOW! I really hope they make no effort in releasing any modding tools. Instead, they should invest the effort in additional game content.

They worked for six years on DAO and there were, and still are, problems with the game. Problems that will never be fixed officially, Problems that were fixed by mods. I can give you a list of the bugfix mods I load up for DAO and DA2, some of which are absolutely necessary.

I enjoy the texture packs -- I'm going through some right now for DA2 --, new hairs, and other such cosmetic things, but that is not all mods are.

I doubt a texture pack is necessary, since the current-gen console have enough RAM for highres-textures.

I've done significant DA2 texture modding simply because I can unpack the files, edit them, and put new ones in the override directory. That's all I really care about honestly: the ability to mod in some way. Developer tools aren't completely necessary. True, DA2 modders were partly able to make do with the DAO toolset, but the majority of the mods that I have were done without it.

Very ignorant comment, but I agree the game itself should be a focus over modding tools. See: Fable Anniversary PC edition

1st - PC requirements
2nd - A proper gameplay video of PC UI gameplay with keyboard and mouse.
3rd - Maximum settings gameplay with 60 fps and at least 1080p.

It may looks like they actually done point #3 - but it is not. That's what i get on youtube in maximum video quality:
not to mention fps lock at 30 there.
Spoiler
If they upload this video in a better quality and at 60 fps somewhere directly, even by a file - that would be awesome.

Hopefully it's not the usual EA/AMD affair... Wish publishers wouldn't partner with specific hardware manufactures.

Same for when games are Nvidia specific with their obnoxious slogan  'The Way It's meant to be played' or something similar.

While I can accept not having a fullscale toolset, I'll be very disappointed if (relatively) simple stuff like texture modding isn't doable.

A toolset would be awesome news indeed. But the cynical in me tells me to not have any hopes.

I think it will be a HD Texture pack. I would love to be wrong and it be a toolset, but I think hell would freeze over before that happened.
