While I can accept not having a fullscale toolset, I'll be very disappointed if (relatively) simple stuff like texture modding isn't doable.

If I'm not mistaken, there are already Frostbite-based games that people have gotten working with Texmod. Texmod isn't direct modding anyway. All it does it interrupt the games loading sequence to load alternate texture files instead of what the game has, so hopefully it won't be too hard for people to figure out how to do it.

So the people at Bioware work really hard for nearly 4 years, crafting an awesome game, and the first thing people ask for is a toolset to change what they have worked so hard to create? Even before they've played the game???

WOW! I really hope they make no effort in releasing any modding tools. Instead, they should invest the effort in additional game content.

The desire to mod a game is a compliment to the devs, not an insult. No one invests the time to do these things unless they consider the game worth spending hours to modify.

There is NO chance for a toolset. FB3 isn't an engine that's financially workable for user tools, especially since so much MP architecture is based on it.

I REALLY REALLY hope it's either news about the release being moved up (hey, Alien Isolation was released a day early on pc) or EA Access coming ot pc.

I still do not get WHY EA access is xbox one early, there is absolutely NOTHING stopping EA from releasing it via Origin for pc users and letting us get the benefits like the console users get, but for some strange reason they just haven't.

I would guess there is probably something stopping them - a contract signed with Microsoft.

I don't see why they'd have an exclusive agreement for that, especially since they tried to bring it to the ps4 as well (and sony wouldn't allow it).

Plus on Origin, there's no middleman to take a cut like on the xbox.

If a big studio is releasing timed exclusive dlc, you can be rest assured that there is a reason for it. (Ie. contract with microsoft. EA gets paid, microsoft gets timed dlc.)
They did NOT wake up one day and say "ouu lets make timed xbox dlc for no reason other than to punish our fanbase!"

EA Access is an attempt to devalue used games. You can't buy a new copy of a console game 9-12 month after release at a Gamestop,

only used ones and EA doesn't get anything from a used sale. This problem doesn't exist on the PC. As soon as a game is added to the EA Access catalogue, it's resale value evaporates.

Among other things, I'm hoping they finally reveal what the "additional digital content" is for the Deluxe Edition so I can finally decide if I should pre-order that one or the regular version :D

This is a controversial topic really.

I personally think modding is in fact a good way to extend the lifetime of a game for players, and is a complement to the base game that the developers worked hard to create.

It gets insulting to the developers when modders or mod users claim to be better than the developers themselves, conveniently forgetting the massive amount of constraints the devs have while creating the game.

Just cause Jimmy had plenty of time to make a mod that made hair flawlessly sashay in the wind doesn't mean that the developers had the time or the money to do it for the base game.

I want console commands. So much can be fixed with console commands.

There is no game that is so good that it wouldn't benefit from mods.

Not all players like the same things.

Unlike modmakers, devs are getting paid for their job.

I think a release on Steam is more realistic than expecting any kind of mods or tool kits. At least a Steam release would make sense because it would result directly in profits.

I don't think Origin will have any kind of significant exclusive content since it doesn't make sense for EA to payola themselves.
