I've been playing with Turian Havoc Soldier and in the log of kills that players do, I've seen a kill I've made and it was stating that the enemy was killed by Cryo Blast. Is that possible? I've seen in the Mass Effect Wiki that Cryo Blast does not deal damage, but after seeing that in my game I've been in doubt. Thanks in advance.

i've noticed cryo blast killing swarmers

if cryo blast is the only thing that hits an enemy on extraction...then you killed it with cryo blast

Cryo Blast doesn't actually deal damage, that's just a minor bug where another power can sneak in at the last moment to steal the credit from a real damage source.

Or in the case of the game killing a unit via end of wave 11 or swarmer timer it can just award the kill to Cryo Blast if it was the only thing that hit it.

I completed my Cryo Blast Challenge with Snap Freeze. :) I thought that was pretty weird.

A swarmer dies automatically after some time has passed?

Yes, although, they have quite a lot of time before that happens.

How do the challenge points work then?  Same thing with stasis?

I've had the same thing happen with Cerberus turrants. I'll nail one with something, but then have to run off to revive a pug or something, then later when the turrant self destructs, I get the credit for it.

This is tangential, but I've also gotten Cryo Blast kills with the Cryo Ammo / Concussive Shot Human Soldier.

In real life, probably yes. In ME3 MP, no.

In real life I imagine that Cryo Blast is really just throwing a snowball at somebody.

I've always thought that organics with no protection should be killed when frozen. How would you survive being completely frost and immobilized?

I thought all impact powers dealt ~50 or so damage when they hit, that is why stasis can get kills,

An entirely tiny number that won't even tick health bars on most enemies, but is there so the game registers the source of damage.

Also, any word on how much physics damage is dealt when rolling/ running into enemies

No Cryo Blast does not deal any damage...

However if you pray to the High Lord CLAYMOAR himself and strickly follow his rules to Reload Cancel and sacrifice your best Incendiary Ammo to him, he will give you some Cryo Blast kills.

Well at least that is how I got what is now in my signature.

Please, somebody, explain to me: if Cryo Blast is not supposed to deal damage in principle, then how, in principle, is one supposed to complete the 25k points with Cryo Blast silver challenge component of Tech Mastery?

(I've done it, not asking for advice, I simply want to know how it is possible.)

Cyonan on points:

All powers that debuff or ragdoll the enemy are awarded some points, regardless of the damage they deal.

I've managed to get credit for "killing" a swarmer by hitting it with cryo blast, allowing the swarmer to touch me, and then dodging/running away before the blast goes off.

Stasis will kill swarmers, IIRC. I was hitting groups of them with the bubble and the killfeed kept crediting it to stasis, at least.
