Yes indeedy... They showed off some fantastic natural-looking caves recently.
This is good. But then again, I personally thought the cave details in Mass effect way back in 2007 were simply stunning ![]()

I plan to upgrade my PC before DA:I's release. A Geforce GTX 970 should be more than enough.
I got a GTX 780Ti. Feels so good.
Sigh. I wish it was that.
Anyway. Not too exited about the gameplay. It's looking just as impractical as I have guessed. The fellow played for less then 10 minutes and half of the health potions were gone. here I am hoping that at least they are common drops.
Quote form the video
I haven't played Skyrim or any other RPGs recently so I can't give you any reference here. I really enjoyed switching between the 4 chars and combining the special attacks. Was kinda hard for me in the beginning. Kept dying like 25 times in a row at one Rift xD
I underlined the IF. I trust Bioware to a degree, but they haven't worked on a cutting-edge engine since... well, forever, really, unless you count the Infinity engine. And Frostbite is not known for being generous regarding requirements. AND maybe the lastest string of poorly optimized AAA titles have undermined my confidence somewhat *glares at Watch Dogs*.
I don't think you will need twin Titans to run at max settings, but it will probably be pretty close. And I don't see minimum requirements required anything but a relatively recent card.
if you're willing to go down to low-medium settings you can play most games. i have a hd7550 and i've been playing literally every single title so far up to alien isolation a few hours ago ( which i have no idea how but runs on everything maxed out :/, at least that's what the display settings are at in the menu, don't understand how it's possible or what's going on ). and i don't think i've ever had to run a game at all low settings ( pretty much most of the time it's at full hd, circling the medium range, either low-medium in a few heavier titles or medium to high in most titles )
but apart from watch dogs which did indeed run like **** ( but not because it had massive requirements, but because it was bugged like hell ).
and i'm willing to bet big bucks that my poor pc will run dai on at least minimum settings ( most likely a combination of low-medium ) though it won't need to since i plan an upgrade next month. and this on a graphics card that's 2 years old i think ... or maybe even more. don't remember exactly when it was launched but i bought it about a year and a half ago i think and for a lousy $100.
obviously you do need a top of the line graphics card if you want to max it out ... but a single card at around $400-$500 will more than run this on max settings.

I got an GTX 760. Combined with an Intel Core i7 and 8 GB of memory. I hope that will be enough.
See, I love things like this among the party members. Shouts and any dialogue during fights adds a lot.One thing I noticed were the portraits. Really digging the style of them, and I found it interesting when the characters health was low the appearance of the portrait turned bloody and beaten up.
Anyway, it looks great overall. And the sound effects really stuck out to me, especially the ambiance of the forest.
I'm not sure how I feel about the portraits popping up when someone is nearing death, however. On the one hand, nothing feels worse than suddenly realizing one of your party members bit it while you weren't paying attention. On the other, combat seems chaotic enough without one more thing flying across the screen.
I think people are being apologists about the potion thing. Was that guy the best player out there? Certainly not. But his skills were sufficient, and bringing difficulty into this is just eye roll-worthy; you really think they'd have the harder difficulties available for the demo? So the press can run away screaming about how overly difficult the game is and start flame wars? Come now, some things need not be stated.
What is true, however, is that I assume that when we're actually playing the game ourselves, we'll have the opportunity to gear in ways that can compensate accordingly for the situation, as opposed to demos where gear is most likely out of the player's control. So I'm holding on to the hope that with the full power of gear customization at my disposal, healing won't be an outrageous challenge. Still, the demos do worry me. I don't want to spend my entire playthrough worried that ONE mistake will leave me with a gimped party that requires I either face the boss with terrible health, or backtrack all the way to a camp to refill potions. That's an SNES-era RPG mechanic that needs to stay in the past, where it belongs.

O_O Warden.... what? (They said no physical appearance... )
Maybe Blackwall?

Yes, that bugged me a little when that happened. The health bars seem like they're apparent enough on screen to not be missed like previous games. It can frustrating when a party member dies during a fight because you weren't paying attention. However, I think that's kind of part of the strategy. It keeps you on your toes more, trying to be alert to everything going on screen. The portraits popping up diminish that.

The combat speed hasn't changed much from DA2 :/
The smoke visuals looked great though.
Yeah, I don't quite get that video.
In most other videos, the developers go out of their way to say how they slowed down and made the combat more weighty in Inquisition compared to DA2. Yet that video looked almost just like DA2, if not worse, what with the rogue constantly zipping around in a puff of smoke and Varric flipping around like a ninja.
That was fun, but I'm forever amused that the Inquisitor is wearing a helmet specifically designed to ward off bullets in a setting with no guns. I know it's a common problem with fantasy based on Medieval and Renaissance Europe in general, specifically the time period where Bioware chose to draw their inspiration from for the Orlesians, and is still funny every time it happens.
and Varric flipping around like a ninja.
I absolutely hated that. If I can pick his skills, Varric will never have a flip ability in any of my games. It's utterly ridiculous considering how heavy he looks. On Sera it's okay, on Varric....no.

Well, if I were to be a rogue or warrior in this setting, I'd be worried too about mages firing small pebbles at the speed of bullets at my face.
I'm at the point where combat footage doesn't do much for me anymore. I know what kind of game this is, how nice it looks, and how the fights seem to go. The next step is playing it, experiencing it, and going through the story.

Gah...people need to take a bit of a step back here. While I really doubt that the Warden is 'our warden' lets not assume that its Blackwall either....something tells me that there will be more warden appearances in this game than in the past...especially after the most recent book and the DA2 DLC. There are plenty of Wardens out there...this isn't DA:Origins...where Wardens had basically been kicked from the country and were barely allowed to return.
For all we know its a Warden that we've never seen before and that its one of many.
Why would anyone suspect it could possibly be the Hero Of Fereldan when they've confirmed he/she won't appear?
One thing I'm worried about seeing the DAI videos is how flashy the combat looks. I mean, it looks good but will I get confused at all the stuff going on at once or will I be able to identify with it? Didn't really like the ninja flip animation for Varric that was used way too much too. I see despite it being a little more open it still has that funnel you down a tunnel level design Bioware usually does in their game too. Most likely to ease the player down a definite path to not get lost on the narrative. Looks good but whoever played the game probably didn't do it justice never using all the features.
I wouldn't mind seeing a video devoted to a purely tactical encounter like that dragon encounter at E3. These battles seem mindless and that's probably intended since you're not really dealing with any big bad guys. The shield guy did look tough though and they do seem to reflect damage from the front. Companion AI looks cleaned up a bit from the E3 video.

Find the warden could also be miss leading for a quest title for all we know could be another warden also . Or could be a false lead for the hero also.
But do think most likely blackwall.
Why would anyone suspect it could possibly be the Hero Of Fereldan when they've confirmed he/she won't appear?
Because people like clinging on to stuff. When they've got an idea they stick to it.
It's like no one even realizes "the Warden" could refer to any Warden of which the person that is referring to him/her does not know the name. So in the case of the Inquisitor at that point in the game that could mean every Grey Warden out there.

I think it's fine when there is a single flip to get away (I've known heavy people who can do all kinds of seemingly gravity-defying stuff like that), but the player was spamming something. We've seen Varric in other gameplay videos, and he's never been that fliptastic.
How unfortunate that they've kept the fast-paced, jumping around, ridiculous combat from DA2. I hated that so much.
It's not as fast-paced as DA2
