He didn't seem exactly good at playing the game.
True.
They gave him a controller and said 'go play the game'.

I think that from Kirkwall to Haven it'll take a bit more then two week.
VARRIC CAME WITH CASSANDRA.
LOVED the conversation between Cassandra and Varric - and this would seem to confirm that the Inquisition happens very shortly after Varric is "questioned" by Cassandra. Do we know where Varric was taken when he meets Cassandra in DA2? The trip between there and Haven might have taken a couple weeks - so there hasn't been a lot of time for these two to get to like each other.
I do like that even with the ending of DA2, these two are pretty antagonistic toward each other (at least at first - who knows how they progress through the game). It makes sense, really, that they'd have trouble being in the same party together without snarking at each other.
I was personally sure about this already. So, I suppose we can asume Solas is the starting mage of the crew?
I noticed that Solas, Varric and Cassandra "die" fairly easily in combat.
The fact that he was using the Inquisitor 90% of the time and ignoring the rest of the party didn't really help ![]()
But still it's cool to get an opinion from people who don't know much about the game.Makes it less biased
It seems like he has more videos of his gameplay section posted already! Edit: Whoops didn't see the 'coming soon' bit
Only negative I could think of while watching the vid (excluding the horrible female running animations that I've already mentioned) is that it looks like there's an overwhelming amount of visual effects during combat. Looked pretty confusing. I hope there's a way to turn it down in the options.
Oh god finally you see the banter on top screen!
So, I suppose we can asume Solas is the starting mage of the crew?
I don't think so. The guy playing said that that area is a distance into the game, and the characters were level 12. On the stream last week they were level 8, and going by previous games, they probably don't level up super fast past the first few levels.
I do think that Solas is the first mage to join the party. Makes sense, after all we saw that he is teaching/helping the Inquisitor with his fadepower.
stop ragging on the guy. He isn't that bad. he called cassandra "chick" and called varric whats his face. so what. get over it.
The whole banter goes like this:
Cassandra: I think it's time you stopped playing the wounded party with me, Varric.
Varric: Ignoring the times you actually wounded me?
Cassandra: I did no such thing. I questioned you, and then brought you to Haven so you could tell your story to the Divine.
Varric: What then? 'Thanks, Varric! We believe you! See you around!'
Cass: And ignoring the fact that you did lie to me. Do not pretend to be an innocent bystander. I could have done far worse, with full justification.
Varric: Yes, thank you for not torturing me. I'm so much happier now.

Yeah and all he did with his Inquisitor was going sneaky+ backstab.
You need to play this game with some CC + focus on a target.
At least on normal you can't just run and slaughter everything without any kind of strategy.(well you can , but you 'll run out of potion quickly)
Normally I love watching gameplay, but that was practically painful to watch. Why don't they give the chance to play to someone who actually knows how to play? Plus some of his commentary made it obvious he know little to nothing about DA.
Because people who know how to play have mostly made up their minds. This is Bioware reaching out to people beyond their standard fanbase.

Finally some subtitles! ![]()
I like how they show up top of the screen this time.
What annoyed me in previous games was that when the banter started the sound was always quiet and muffled because the characters were trailing behind you and then I had to stop, pause and pan the camera around so I could see and hear what they were saying.
Nobody said that he is a bad person.
Yup. He clearly played the other versions if you watched until the end. It's unkown if he paid atention to the story whomever.

Hmm? Lied? I wonder what she's referring to. I hope we find out.

Maybe he lied when he said he didn't know where Hawke was.

he has other DA:O videos
A couple of questions that people who have seen more than myself may be able to answer:
- He spent time talking about going around "collecting" all the landmarks in the area. Do we know if there is a point to this? Is it simply for Codex entries and XP, "Power" points for the Inquisition, or is there some greater purpose/reward for collecting them all?
- This is the first I've seen of the "bend down and manually revive fallen party members" thing. Is this something anybody can do by default, is it an ability (Rogues only, or anybody?) that you get via levelling, or is it done via crafting potions?
Poor Varric, yeah I have a feeling he might be a tough nut to crack this time...
Maybe he lied when he said he didn't know where Hawke was.
That'd be cool! Maybe Varric tells us where Hawke is, etc

It's probally like ME3. Revive is neither a skill or item. Simply press A/X/whateva to revive fallen companions.

Pretty sure anybody can revive a fallen companion. Mages can also get a revive ability that revives characters instantly.

They said there's a revive spell in the last stream.
That's a mage spell which can revive companions from a distance.

Nothing new. The Witcher 2 had the exactly the same but 3+ years ago.
