Sadly EA has confirmed there is no digital download for 360... both wolfenstein the new world order and titanfall do not have a digital downloads either.... and both of those games are mandatory "must play off the disc games"... I hope DAI does not make playing off the 'play disc' mandatory

There's a difference between "must play off the play disc" and "must have the play disc in the tray to play"...  If you can install the second disc, then it'd probably be the latter...

What I mean is... when I first get a 360 game I install it on the hard drive... 360 still makes u put the disc in the tray after u install it... it just doesnt play off the disc.. thus making the system run quiter... not as hot... extending the console's life...

Titanfall and wolfenstein do not give u the option to even install the disc to the hard drive... GTAV does but at cost to framerate... if u can't install the disc the 360 gets hotter and louder... thus possibly shortening the console life

I kinda expected this the last few big games I've bought  GTAV Watchdogs and Wolfinstein all requied multiple discs for xbox360 i'm actually surprised that DAI is only an 8gb install I was expecting at least 9.5gb, but saying that it;s still not bigger than all my ME3 stuff puttoger witch not counting saves comes at a whopping 25gbs!  Makes we wonder what how much space i'll have by the time DAI DLC stuff roll out

Most people would have described the bump as shameless, not shameful.

I know im a ninny for asking but whats the purpose of a install disk? It seems easier and faster just to disk swap at x event?

With a game like DAI, where you'll likely be able to revisit places, having a "swap at x point" mark would basically result in recurring disc changes,  Worst case, it'd be like ME3 where if you did anything unrelated to the main storyline, you'd have to insert disc 2(and then go back when you resumed the main storyline).  Best case it'd be like ME2 where you'd swap to disc 2 at one point, and then swap to disc one for the final boss...

From what I gather, most people don't like disc swaps, but grudgingly accept them if they're of the ME2 variety....  I personally, will gladly take a minimum of 8GB required install on the 360 if it means I never have to swap discs...

2 or 3 disks swap are nothing I remember days of up to 6 disks sometimes 12 or more  and having to swap them out all the time during play (moving from one location to the next for example) I'll take the time it;s takes to install 8GB of data and 1 or 2 swaps over going back to that hell anyday of the week

I don't care about disc swapping... I care about not having my 360 over heat due to the disc always spinning... I want to know if I can do a full install to preserve my 360. 360 are notorious for over heating... if u install the game disc it's more likely ur xbox won't over heat.... the question is... can I install the play disc? (Unlike titanfall and wolfenstein.... those games aren't on xbox live games on demand)

The lack of digital version on the Xbox 360 has to do with the fact that we are a multiple disc game and how the MS console reacts to that.

Disc 1 is the install disc and disc 2 is the Play disc. Dragon Age: Inquisition will have a ~8 Gig required install (essentially the first disc) when you first go to play it.

Actually according the information you provided, there is absolutely no reason why the game can't have an Xbox 360 Games on Demand version. Take GTA V as an example, it had an identical set up to what you just described, a play disk and an install disk. And it worked just fine as a digital game. The install disk was split into the standard max sized 2 GB portions for free download, and the play disk was put up as the game itself. If this is the setup Inquisition is using, then there's absolutely no reason why it can't be digital too. You only have a problem when you have it set up like you did in Mass Effect 2 and 3, where there were two play disks instead of a play disk and install disk. But that's not the situation here.

What about the PS3 version? Will that version also come with 2 discs?
