My first playthrough will be a mage, but I'm planning on doing an archer.  I love bows and arrows.

DW. It'd be my preference no matter what and I don't think my qunquisitor (1st playthrough choice at this point) would look good with a bow, anyway. I will say that archery and S+S look more appealing to me (just aesthetically) than they have in the previous games so I might actually try them out this time.

Not at first, though.

DW. I have never been one for Archery in RPG's.

DW for life...when playing as a rogue. i've only tried the Archery class once recently. It was nice but I missed close combat. Only time I can deal with being a ranged attacker is as a mage.

I have always been a archery fan pretty much since Lord of the Rings and a fan of sniper and long ranged weapons for most of my life.  So, there is the answer, my second Inquisitor is going to be an Archery Rogue.

I love them both! I'm probably gonna roll an archer the first time around so I can save dual-wielding for my dwarf. But we'll see.

It's fun to be a sniper and it's fun to be a ninja.

I'm going to roll a qunari archer.  Remember that qunari who BOOM HEADSHOT'd Sister Petrice in DA 2?  That's going to be my qunari in Inquisition.  All day, erry' day.  A badass Robin Hood qunari.

In DA 2, I like all the moving around I did with a DW rogue but I made sure to have a good bow since vs tough bosses with AoE abilities, it was better to sit back and Auto Attack with Haste up from Anders.

For those who thought you could both, unlike the rest of us who can chew gum and walk at the same time, the programmers for both DA2 and DAI can't. Why they removed the ability to switch like in DAO is beyond me. Pardon my English but they did a half-assed job on the switching weapons in DAI, did they even think about the hassle of having to pause then go to inventory page change weapons then leave inventory then unpause then fight, then do it all over to change weapons. I mean really.

Normally I'd go straight for dual-wielding, because I love a good knife fight in combat, but archery is greatly improved, I think. I'm actually really torn, because it's finally fun to play. But, thinking about it, I'm kind of annoyed that I have to be. To echo the sentiments on weapon switching, being able to simply swap during combat would essentially spare one the trouble of having to decide this at all.

I made all the fuss about bowstrings for bows and ended up going mage for this game. hahahaha

If I had to choose between archery and dual wielding, I would've went with archery.
