I didn't mention this in my last post, but was I the only one who was wondering how Cass would break down that wall without a shield equipped only to be surprised when she kicked it? Kicked down an (admittedly weakened) brick wall? I foresee Cassandra>Chuck Norris jokes in the BSN's near future.

God, can you imagine Aveline and her on the same team? Next blight, who needs Grey Wardens? Just send those two at the darkspawn, barehanded, and BAM. Done.

Blackwall already got one of mine, but yes do see that happening.

Cas doesn't sleep, she waits.

But apart from the guy not auto-attacking was a decent video all around.

Wait, did they get rid of basic attacks? I just realized this.

Great soundscape; kudos to the sound designers. I especially enjoy the use of different reverb as the immediate environment changes.

No. The player just rejected the option of using his, and chose to only use activated skills when available and take cooldowns to run around reviving companions who were killed while he was running around reviving companions instead of attacking enemies.

When I say it like that, it sounds like sarcasm. It's not.

Highlights were the sound track and the Varric and Cassandra banter...it hurts seeing two of my favorite people bickering but nicely executed.

Game looks great. You really need that tactical view for some of those battles.

And that loot.

O.o

Not everybody has the same opinion as yours about the video if you want to enjoy the cringeworthy moments of the video go right ahead but don't be calling people "whiny" just because their opinions of the video differ from yours.

He's calling people whiny because some people are whining about the guy's skill.  An opinion is "That guy is a bad player."  Being whiny is, "That guy is a bad player, it's so unfair that he got to play and not me, I hate this guy he's literally the stupidest person ever."

The companion AI was worse though... Cassandra was hacking away at the air for about a minute or so because she was too high up and neither the player nor the computer could be bothered to move her to a better position.

Companion AI has never been particularly good in any BioWare game I can think of. I was worried Inquisition would be no exception, but I'm still withholding judgment until I've played the game.

I've never seen the computer hack away at air for over a minute, but tbh I blame the player more for not taking control of Cass and fixing the problem.  All they had to do was switch to her and jump off that darned ledge...

Now watch as he spams his 0 damage gap closer and then runs towards the camera... away from the enemy!

Its been said by Bioware that these videos are of older versions of the game so the AI bugs/floating blocks and such are not present in the current game.

I might be in the minority here but I really like some of the animations in this game. The pivot animation looks really cool...and I really like the warrior animations all around that we've seen.

Was it just me or was the guy playing not using his regular attack at all?  Just skills?

Anyway, looking good.  Still a little frustrated about the pooled health potions and such, but I'll get into the groove of things when playing.

I think I'm probably the minority of the minority here but the quests themselves looks awful and the open world doesn't do much for me. >_> If this is what the actual game will be like I been fooling myself I think. The entire thing combat/outposts/quests/dialog reminded me of questing in a mmorpg with the quests being voice acted.

*Spoilers from video*
The worst one was the "find proof" one that seemed to be taken right out of a online game with finding three journals around the world. It also looked beyond weird in the first outpost where the player could have a conversation while controlling Casandra. I'm not a fan of modern open world games but I had hoped this game would be more like Gothic 1/2 open world and less like Skyrim/random mmorpg.

I don't want to grind or do mmo-quests in a singleplayer game and that was the experience that video reminded me of. Especially since the final mansion reminded me of the Scarlett monastary in wow.

One thing I noticed, I'm not sure if it was mentioned somewhere else (probably...I'm a slowpoke).

There are 8 potions for entire party. Not for each member. When he uses potion with the Inquisitor, it says 5/8. After the use, he uses one with Varric and it says 4/8 (before actual use).

I though every party member had their provate "stash" of potions so far.

Edit:

Also, I can't help but notice, that while general sound design is top notch, there is no combat music of any description...

There is often no music whatsoever. The combat just seems... weirdly quiet.

Sorry you feel that way :(   I love the way quests are looking, personally.

Thank you! Still trying to stay positive though. These might be just side quests that can be mostly ignored, hopefully. If so I can focus on the main quests and do those parts but ngh. This did nothing for me.

Will have to wait for reviews but I don't want a mmo like experiance or Skyrim. I never considered that the cutscenes storytelling would be different even if they changed the combat again. I mean I did like Dragon Age 2 but perhaps they simply reduced the cutscenes and larger dialog quests for side missions.

Will have to wait and see how it goes but the last thing I want is to be told to kill some bandit leader, slaughter my way through a camp and kill them without getting a chance to talk and only finding a few journals left behind and both quests shown in that video has minimal interaction from the player and seemed uninspired to me. Ah well, ranting done for the day!

It appears they've simplified gold, silver and coppers to one simple count for money. This saddens me.

Hmm, didn't notice that. But it certainly seems this way.

This is quite sad, because it was actually interesting, how 50 gold coins were a lot of money in previous games. Now 170+ just lays in a random chest...

It seems like there's just a lot more content, and so it wasn't feasible or necessary to make each side quest with cutscenes and choices. There will still be those cutscenes conversations. Whether there are as many, more, or less than previous games remains to be seen
