A few things that annoyed me in the video.

The main one:

When you are talking to that guy at the 4 minute mark and say "baseless speculation" I didn't expect that answer to be a rejection of the quest. I just expected it to mean, we have no proof, but then allow for you to say... but I am happy to find some. Or "this may not help me but I am happy to help you" type thing. Luckily you can go back into the dialogue and re-accept but that is still annoying and takes me out of character.

Some other minor issues were:

- Solas' fade flame going through the wood above him bothered me (does fade flame just not burn)?

-having to press the search key for items to come up when you are right on top of them... I am just likely to press that button over and over again just to ensure that I have everything in the room. There should be clearer markers without pressing it... or you should have a wider radius on the search button.

All that being said fantastic exploration and attention to detail... the book on sexuality in Thedas was a nice touch.

I'm watching the video and I'm growing increasingly disappointed.  My anticipation for the game is all but gone. I still have it on preorder as it's a game I want to play that falls in my favorite genre, but I'm no longer anticipating the next tidbit of information like I was before. Most everything I have seen and heard of this game in the past month has disappointed me, and now this video is the peak of it.

I don't like all the spell effects and they only serve to obstruct the combat. I don't know who allowed them to include so many effects. They are mostly ugly and big for no reason, especially that ugly green fog that's the first thing in combat. Also, whereas the combat in DA2, for all it's funny flipping around, was efficient and orderly, this seems all over the place. I lost who I was targeting half the time, and the game seems to be going in a hack and slash direction, which I don't like. As I noted before, the barrier just fades way too fast to be useful and it seems that one encounter is enough  to send you right back to camp to fill up on the (seems like useless) potions.

Also, one thing that really pisses me off about games that go open world: the camera doesn't seem to be so good in small spaces. And who thought constantly having to press the eco button to locate things to loot was a good idea? Like there was something wrong with the system in the last two games. Or, I don't know, allow us to have the eco thing on always so we can see things when we move closer to them. Whoever thought playing a constant game of "Marco Polo" would be fun is out of his or her mind.

I think this will be a good game, as far as the story, the lore, and the characters. Where it falls short is the all-over-the-place combat. I haven't seen people playing a lot with the tactical camera. Hopefully that will at least redeem things a little.

With that, I would take into account we don't know if that extra subtitle above the options would appear or not. You know, the one stating exactly what will happen, shown in the Crestwood video.

My issue with these vids is that the people playing just don't seem to know what they are doing.  I can look past it a little, but when I find myself yelling at the screen due to the way they are playing.... yeah there's something wrong there.

Perhaps it's because I use pause extensively in DAO and DA2, that the fact that no one seems to use it at all, or even know it is a feature in these vids annoys me.

The health issue seems to beg for a more thoughtful, tactical approach and yet these people just try to (ineffectively) barrel through combat.

And then get punished. Over and over again.

They are constantly running around with the bare minimum of health.  It is a bit painful to watch.

I also agree with others that the light show is a bit extreme.  If I am playing a warrior or a rogue (which is most of the time) I don't want to see my character producing these magic looking flashes.

And spamming the stealth ability.

They keep spamming stealth, running ahead of their companions and proceed to attack the giant shield-bearing enemy tanks.  Their attack does almost no damage, they drop out of stealth, and now find themselves in the middle of combat with an angry enemy tank staring them in the face and meanwhile Cassandra is a mile away.

It's a terribly ineffective strategy, and everyone playing in these vids seems to think it is the best idea ever.  Wth?

DA2 combat was efficient and orderly?  Have to disagree there, it felt like absolute chaos to me.  I enjoyed it, but it was chaotic as all hell.

It's very strange.  It's like watching the Arishok fight for every single battle.  Just do some basic attacks while the tank is attacking Cassandra while waiting for cooldowns.  The other companions are some times just not doing anything.  Zero pausing as well.  Even when I go easy, I will pause a few times in the beginning of the fight.  I just think these videos don't do the game justice.  Even if it the combat may be suspect, it's hard to gain a grasp on it if the player doesn't know what they are doing.  (It's not their fault, I just want to see a better demoing)

Yep.  And for the love of gawd if they insist on playing real time, I wish they would at least switch between party members.  Varric and Solas are left completely unattended and in the thick of melee during most of these vids.

I don't think it was this vid specifically, but in one of them, the guy just keeps zerg rushing with a hair's thickness of health left on his bar. No pausing, no backing out to down a potion, and Cassandra doesn't even seem to have a taunt. If she does it doesn't seem to ever be used, etc.

Watching these vids has brought me nothing but frustration. The nice overall visuals were ruined by poor (no) strategy of the people demoing.

I know I'm repeating myself but the game play is too chaotic.  I don't know if it's the stupid console controller that is doing the stupid camera moving all over the places like a bad cut scene.  Are we going to get any mouse and keyboard version of game play to show?  The console controller camera is just horrible.

hard to tell.  My guess is that the person using the controller is not manipulating the view very well.  I just want to see a dev do more demoing because those camera angles look alright to me.

Yes, this I have to agree with. What's the point if you're spamming it anyway? Turn it on already ...

The fact the player wasn't using his basic attack nearly drove me nuts. Oh, and obviously didn't set any custom tactics for the team members, they weren't even using health potions at low health.

Besides that, a solid gameplay video. I especially liked the numerous journals, books etc. to read.

BioWare should really keep all their gameplay videos in-house. I cannot tell you how much an incompetent player, who clearly doesn't know what he's doing, can make a game look terrible. Perhaps I was the only one, but it was honestly just distracting and painful to even watch any of the footage. The constant circling. The horrible tactics. I'd be surprised if this person has ever played a Dragon Age title, let alone a BioWare game altogether.
