I don't know if anyone has seen the new gameplay video, but if not here is a link.
But anyways I noticed around the five minute mark Varric is being rather hostile to Cassandra after she brings up Kirkwall. Do you think we will be seeing a new Varric? A more angry and battle hardened one over our more cheery story teller? After the events of DA2 and his interrogation I could understand why. But what about you guys and gals?
Bioware already confirmed that Varric doesn't like Cassandra or Qunari's.
Personally, I'm happy his not taking everyone's crap anymore. In DA2, he was nice to everyone (Except Sebastian for some reason) and he sounded like a yes-man sometime. I'm happy his showing some spine.

It's not about the video as a whole it's supposed to be about Varric and i used the video for evidence to back up what i'm saying.
I don't know about you guys, but the only change I noticed about Varric is that he is quite an acrobat, must have been working on his Aerobics lessons since his days in Kirkwall. I'm pretty sure he's going to do backflip while telling his story.

He doesn't want to be in Ferelden/Orlais. He wants to go back to Kirkwall (which is kind of crazy in itself).
I'm not worried about Varric since I won't use him in the game. I will have Sera for rogue in my party
I didn't care for his attitude, but I was never a huge Varric fan to begin with. I'll probably using Cole as my rogue most of the time anyway...

Varric wasn't particularly nice to Carver either, though he was constantly asking for it.

My point was that usually Varric would like to deflect things with humor like Alistair did. He wasn't really one to flat out show hate for someone.
