I loved how Varric revived Cass right before the Red Lyrium Ninja (or whatever it's actually called) reached them and Cass just... jumped up and started beating that thing.

Ha. In ME3MP I would always have a couple of seconds of uselessness after being revived during which time whatever downed me the first time had the opportunity to do it again...

Another little tidbit from the video - notice how after the Red Lyrium Ninja takes down Solas, he forms some kind of electrical-looking connection with the other two Red Templar Knights... Restoring health maybe? Combat boost?

Probably. But I have also seen them shoot that at us and have it do some damage to us.

That new video, great stuff. I also like that they mention that tactics are back, where you can have preset designations to companions, like the last two games. I was not sure if that would be the case in this game.

Dragon Age: Inquisition - PC Gameplay - Max Settings & Hands On In-Depth - (NEW - Oct 12th)

Cassandra - The Tank

Varric - The Crossbowman

Solas - The Sorcererr or Wizard I guess

AAAHHHHH!!!  Why didn't the people who went out there do enough BASIC research!!!

At least she got the names right.

Well, she was correct about their rolls. Cass is a tank, Varric IS a crossbowman and Solas is a Wizard. Plus, I felt she had the best information of all the videos. She clearly played the previous dragon age games. Or at least the first one.

And this is why Bioware shouldn't appeal to a wider audience.

To be fair the rest of the youtubers were nice. Even if They called only Bioware fans for those playtesting, it's possible A person might've done something similar.

Nice find! I'm sure there'll be all kinds of Dev references in this - we'll need get an Easter Egg thread going when the game comes out.  B)

That is true though I doubt Bioware and other RPG fans would do something as crass as this.

This video doesn't look good for Bioware IMO.

Okay, that was hilarious. I will probably go on an innocent animal killing spree at some point myself.

I really wish bioware got someone competent to at least show of the pc gameplay. There are youtubers a plenty who havent heard of Dragon Age but are decent gamers.

Commercial truths:

  • Most purchasers of DAI will never complete the game.
  • Some purchasers will bunny-hop around on casual, killing animals & sh*t for LOLs until their attention span wanes (so 20 mins maybe).
  • They are valued purchasers and the youtuber scheme allows BioWare to reach them without sullying themselves.
  • If it annoys you, don't worry, the video was not aimed at you and the game was not really designed for their market segment.
  • But if they wish to contribute their $60 to the pot, in return for the LOLs demonstrated (not a false promise, you can do that) then that's fine.
  • They can 'play the game they want to play'.
  • Their way does not have to be your way.

And I agree about painful, I couldn't manage to the end.

I understand who they were targeting - I was just whining because I'm gnawing on my keyboard in frustration at not being able to play myself.    One of my nieces uses the automatic level up button on every game that offers it because as she puts it I want to play the optimum build and the developers know what my character needs better than I do.  I think of her every time someone cries about choices being taken away.  Truth is forum rats are about 1 percent (or less) of the total gaming population and even we cant agree on what would make a good game.   Some are worried it will be too hard on easy because of the no heal spell - other cry that it is being dumbed down for the casuals.  They want the open world but they also want all the spell choices more romances and all the story - if you  put everything this forum wants in one game it would take a terabyte sized file to hold it.

So I guess the only way to avoid being one-shotted by giant boulders or dragon breath is to have barrier/guard on?

Or avoid the hit.
