Nice to see someone play without facerolling everything first and dying non-stop, gives me a bit more confidence that I won't be on the brink of death the whole time.
Heres what the latest video has in its discrption:
"My Thoughts:
I don't think I will buy this game."
Seriously, what is EA thinking? Why give gameplay access to people who are not interested in the game and will tell everyone their not interested. How on earth does this help sell DA: I?
Is it not possible they where interested until they played it, and that the thought was an honest reaction of disappointment?
The Chateau Dungeon has been shown in its entirety already but its nice to see competent play for once.
Also, shame on you Hrungr. You missed a video. ![]()

No, because the guy states hes not interested in these types of games and only played because EA gave him a free plane trip so why not. Congrats, EA, you wasted your money.

fair enough then, Am waiting for the honest reviews still, ones that actually share and address my concerns. (The overly flashy and frankly boring looking combat that seems exactly like the worst excess of DA2 turned up to 11 being a massive one.)
OK, so I've stopped being a snob about the YouTubers' gameplay because I realize that they're handed the game cold with no context for the controls and no easy learning curve that usually occurs at the beginning of video games. But I was watching the latest video (Oct. 15th), and I have to wonder if most gamers play that randomly. The woman handled herself in combat, but she just kind of runs haphazardly through the chateau stumbling onto stuff. If I were to be playing this portion, I would be methodically clearing room by room until I had puzzled everything together. Maybe other players aren't handicapped by being as retentive as I am and just try to enjoy the game and see what they can see. But I'm compelled to try to do everything efficiently and step-by-step.
(Please note that I'm not criticizing anyone's gaming style. I was just curious about how people liked to play.)

Sometimes, you (in the general sense) just don't get what the objective is. Like...I'll spend an hour in one location totally stuck because I thought the stupid level was a wall decoration or something.
I think it looks awkward because she was just playing naturally, which is very different than a developer showing a game. When you're the one in control, I think it feels different even if it might look the same. When you're passively watching somebody else play, all you're thinking is, "No, no, no! You just missed that room!"

I play this way too, i hate backtracking in dungeons or mission areas, so i usually clear room to room so i never have to stop and come back.... my cousin on the other hand plays the opposite, he runs in kills all the enemies in the dungeon he can and then explores....

In the Chateau the stairs to the upper level were kinda hard to find, it wasn't until she properly looked at the map that she realised there were stairs all the way back in an area she'd already explored.
(Also, the quest area maps in DA:I seem deliberately stylised and maybe not as easy to understand as those in previous games)

I do agree that the area maps are stylized. I think they look quite nice, and there's enough functionality to communicate adequate information. Just taking a quick glance shows you which area you haven't been to because they're dark; the "where have I just been walking" colored pathing also helps you avoid going in circles; and there's a feature to switch between floor levels as well.
I just think it's nice they put time into smaller aesthetic touches.
DRAGON AGE INQUISITION - [FR]GAMEPLAY EXCLUSIF
I commented on that video and asked if there was a version without commentary; hopefully we'll be able to hear new banter.
I used Google Translate and am praying it was right - I'm frightened of the French and their language-love lol. But it looked okay to me.
I haven't watched it yet but I think it's new :
The tune that plays during the boss battle at the end is so haunting.
Dragon Age: Inquisition - Greater Mistral Break Down
Something tells me, just a hunch, that I'll be enraged by this encounter in game.

Better stock up on those Dragon-slaying runes... ![]()

AHA!! This gives me much relief! ![]()
Dragon fights in Inquisition will be so epic. Is there any way to skip straight to November?
The French player used a strategy I'm already planning to employ: he used Static Cage on a clump of non-ranged enemies. However, I would have had Cassandra hold a point outside the cage and Varric snipe from above. The cage keeps damaging those who try to leave it, so it should wear those three down in health.

For those that don't understand french, He talked about how he loved the open world, the ambiance of the game, and how he wanted to just slowly walk around so that he could look at everything. He liked the fact that the inquisitor had a separate animation for walking down the stairs.
The combat was at first hard, but he eventually gets the hang of it and realizes that you need to fight smart. He mentioned that he doesn't think there's any healing in the game and that's probably for the best cause otherwise it would be too easy.
A good thing to hear for anybody worried about the difficulty. ![]()
Finally, he says that cassandra's ability to smash down doors reminds him of pokemon with special terrain abilities.
I choose you, Cassandra! ![]()
Also french youtubers are surprisingly polite. The only troll was an english guy. ![]()

I agree. And by the way, speaking of haunting, am I the only one who thought the Chateau was extremely creepy? With the candles lighting up by themselves and everything? Wow, this is gonna be awesome (and scary - Yes I'm easily scared).

Of course, you're not the only one. Varric and Cassandra were also creeped out.
Zombies showing up in parts of the castle you've already been through makes me feel like I won't be able to lower my guard while there. ![]()
The dragon video is also pretty awesome. Noticed that the dragon never did that screech attack we saw on one of the dev demos (forget which one).
I wonder if that means each dragon is actually unique from the other dragons. ![]()
