From one of the latest videos.

Pause at 3:44

Carroll who guards the ferry to the Circle tower in Origins is nowadays a Knight-Captian? What?

The biggest surprise is that he and Samson are Red Templars.

The Samson note sounds that he is one of the Leader of the Red Templers.

By the way could Samson die in DA 2?

Odd that Carroll is a leader in the Red Templars, (and sounding so coherent), considering how already lyrium addled he appeared in Origins. Unless he was just an absolute moron, perhaps red lyrium could actually reverse the effects of blue lyrium before it starts doing what it does best.

I thought he was just a moron. And an annoying one.I remember /show warden treaties ..."yeah, yeah and I'm the Queen of Antiva".

If they managed to organize a group of rebel , perhaps Red Lyrium is somewhat good for the brain.

Anyway if it turns out to be true , err...I'm not holding my breath for the Red templar storyline , Samson was sleazy , and Carroll was an idiot.

I'm already facepalming thinking about those two.

i'm still hoping we'll get more "tragic " templar downfall.I want to be able to care about their addiction problem .

I've just checked the wiki and it says Godwin uses Carroll of a Templar who is lyrium addled during the Precious Metals quest. He probably was an idiot before that too.

And I'm not particularly hopeful for the RT story arc anymore. I've just got to hope the Venatori are more evil, since insane and evil is already pretty bad for these guys.

All I want for Christmas is a Dwarf Romance

Me too! That is the reason I would like a romanceable dwarf and, if possible, female dwarf because of the lack of female dwarf companion in the whole series. (There was only one, it was Sigrun in DAO-A) but if the dwarf is as fun as Oghren, I wouldn't complain.

In the new artbook there is also a depiction of Samson in Red Templar armour.. let's just say he still looks a bit sleazy.. but now with a touch of insanity and evil. He gives me goosebumps..

Yes, but his stupidity seemed caused by lyrium. Not sure you can change for that.

I find this quite intriguing tbh. I'd like to see how this plays out. I personally liked Samson, but the idea of killing characters like this where long term players know who they are and how they have changed since previous games. Sounds great! :)

Their influence has spread farther than even I would have thought!

I thought Cullen took Samson away to be executed with the traitors in DA2. At least I'm pretty sure I advised him to!

Maybe Red Lyrium can reverse ordinary Lyrium addling?

I'm sorry, but can you use spoiler tags please, not everyone has the book yet thanks.

Well he was sleazy when he ever sine he sent Olivia and Feynriel and who knows how many other ppl to that slaver just for his next fix of lyrium. I usually let Cullen arrest him and everyone else. I guess the bastard escapes.

I always spoke well of Samson for some reason (too nice, I think).  He was a sleazebag.  Ugh.  I am not in the keep and I wonder if letting him become a Templar is one of the options.

Perhaps its the influence of the red lyrium that has made Carroll more competent as well as evil?  That's what I'm thinking anyhow.  Samson probably joined their ranks merely to get his lyrium fix; there are most likely a lot of Templars that joined for that reason.

And it seems as though Red Templars are going to be quite fanatical, as shown in one of the videos when they're destroying an entire village for harboring a few mages in it.  The red lyrium makes the users obsessive and evil, obviously.  There's probably no turning back once you begin taking it.

Maybe he was just arrested because he collaborated with Cullen?
Anyhow we are never see him actual die in DA 2.

How is it a spoiler to say that a Red Templar looks crazy?
