My Party build is:

Cassandra/Blackwall/Ironbull(Haven't decided yet...)

Reason: Most of the party is Elven lol...

Inquisitor (human, male, either tempest rogue or one of the three mage specs (they all look good))

Cole

Viv/Dorian (not sure depends how affable Dorian is (more affable = better))

Blackwall/Varric (possibly Cass if I really need a warrior and Blackwall isnt working for me)

My first playthrough will be a human male Warrior, but I am not rigid in my choice of companions.

Although I usually try to keep a balance, I will most likely use them all at one point or another depending on what I'm doing.

If I am on a mission to kill a dragon for example, I will try to have more variety in class.

Always taking a rogue to unlock stuff.

I like to mix things up and put different party members together to hear the banter and see how well they work together.

Human Mage Inquisitor

Cassandra (Tank)

Solas (Mage two)

Varric (Rogue)

I plan on running with them the entire game (for my first playthrough, at least), which is convenient since they seem to be the starting three. I like building up a hardcore team dynamic in games like this.

I'm gonna take whoever is relevant to the quest I'm on. I'm trying to bring one of each class.

I'm going for the traditional choice for my 1st playthrough by playing a human warrior inquisitor.

I'm sure Solas and Cole will be the my main choices for the mage and rogue roles, as for the 4th place I'll be a little more flexible.

My main party:

Male Elf Inquisitor (Rift Mage)

Iron Bull

Sera

Dorian

I'll probably use the elemental skill trees mainly, then I'll give Dorian the spirit power skill trees (or an equivalent to them), and Sera I will probably spec her with both archery and dual-wield. Also I'll also be switching out Sera/Dorian for Varric/Vivienne a lot (Bull will stay most of the time since he will be my Inquisitor's LI). I'll be using all the companions though, but those 5 the most!

Not sure if I'm doing Qunari mage or human mage, but I have been quite hyped for Qunari for so long. The only problem would come in if there was no way for me to make a cool Qunari character in the facial superficial awesome looking area.

As for party,

Inquisitor: mage (Knight Enchanter  I think)

Iron Bull

Solas/Dorian (still not sure who I will like more)

Cole

Its weird though, even though we have a large choice of companions none really jump out as a "omg they will always be in my party on every playthrough". In DA2 I took Isabela everywhere regardless of class or anything. Here the only one that really strikes me as really interesting is Cole. This could be because so little info has been released about the companions or because there's always something that is off. Iron Bull for me just looks weird (and I generally dont like the brutish warrior types), Vivienne I really wanted as an LI because I thought Bioware had finally made a character like Viconia in BG2 (who was romanceable in a really amazing way (you kind of had to be a dick, she hated nice guys)), Dorian I thought was going to be a dashing and cocksure guy (I actually thought he'd be a womanizer lol) but in all the trailers we've seen he's been bummed out and depressed (Alexius and the whole enemy of Thedas Venatori stuff). Sera is a good assassin (sigh why is she a goody, she's with the friends of red jenny ffs). Leliana looks amazing (both physically and her attitude. I hated her in DA:O but this hardened Leliana is awesome) but she isnt a companion (or romanceable), Josie seems cool but not a companion, Varrics fine but doesnt look like he has changed at all from DA2 (not a bad thing but still not a must have in the party), Solas just does nothing for me, all I want out of him is a different perspective on the Fade but there's nothing about him himself that is appealing, Cass is Aveline (doesnt really do it for me), Blackwall seems like Duncan which is fine but again Ive seen it before.

Long story short, I dont like goody characters or characters that I've seen so many times before and the various paragons (Cass, Blackwall etc) I've seen many times. Ive seen the Sera type too many times (Jack in ME3, maybe even Thane).

Its times like this I wish devs would go back to the good neutral evil because although that is a bit of a silly paradigm it forces you to design really varied companions. Bioware has a way of making the characters they write an incredibly pale shade of grey

My first playthrough will be with Varric, Cassandra and Solas. I am hoping I can get all 3 of them early in the game.

I will be swapping characters around a lot and I will use everyone, but I think my "main" team will be...

Elven Knight Enchanter Inquisitor

Cassandra (2 Handed)

Dorain

Cole (Archery)

...  If I give that elf a name that begins with A, this team's initials would be AC/DC... o.O

After seeing the vids that came out party composition is very important.

I'll be a fem human or elven inquisitor and my party will most likely deal with ranged battle specialists as to not get up close and personal.

So that means i'll most likely bring varric, Sera and Ill go with viv. I'll make sera interchangeable with cass when I need a tank that can deal damage.

I'll be playing a female elven mage.

I think my party will switch around, but if I HAD to narrow it down to a few, I would say:

Vivienne, Sera, and Cassandra.

I will be using these as a Human Mage: Casandra (2handed), Blackwall (shield), Varric (ranged).

My favourite combination is always 2 melee and 2 ranged, but sometimes i am forced to change it because i need to take certain companions.

I have planned out and prenamed eight separate Inquisitors that I will eventually get around to playing, a male & female for each race with every one having a separate specialization (three warriors, three mages, two rogues); all with an appropriate back story selected from the options provided by Bioware. The only specialization option not represented among my choices is Artificer.

I will have to decide upon receipt of the game, which character gets the nod first. No matter which Inquisitor makes my initial cut, I've sort of grouped my companions as follows:

Blackwall; Solas; Cole

Cassandra; Varric; Dorian

Iron Bull; Sera; Vivienne

Depending upon how the Inquisition progresses, I will shift between these pairings as needed.

I always like to rotate parties between quests. Right now I'm thinking.

Cassandra, Dorian, Sera

Iron Bull, Vivienne, Varric

Blackwall, Solas, Cole

Inquisitor (Male, Assassin, archer)

Cassandra

Cole

Vivienne

I always role with two rogues in the party, both a duel wielder and archer, even if I'm not playing as one. It seems quite balanced in Origins and DA2, I hope it feels the same this time around also.

My character will either be archer or dagger with Assassin depending on if archer plays well with assassin (Elf male), or rift mage (male human... maybe on male), or Two handed Reaver (Qunari Female)

Tank: Cass

DPS: Cole

mage: Solas

Inquisitor will be a sword and shield warrior.

Solas or Dorian for my mage. Vivienne can suck it.

Varric as the rogue.

And the Iron Bull will come along everywhere.

Cassandra: She's a natural fit as a frontline tank. She seems like she'll be a tough, assertive, and trustworthy character, and I think I can count on her to either inform or challenge my decisions, and I value a character that can do that. She is by far the character I'm looking forward to adventuring with the most. And I think she's absolutely lovely

Solas: He's interesting to me because of his unique and likely unrivaled knowlege of the fade and spirits. I am further intrigued because he has had no restrictions placed upon his education in the ways of magic, which to me means that he could potentially be one of the most capable and powerful mages of all time. However, he keeps to himself and seems to have a very level head, which tells me that he is also very responsible and likely incorruptible. Definitely someone I want to have on my team. I plan to focus his ability set on area damage spells and crowd control.

Cole: I really want to know what's up with this dude. And I need to have someone on the team who can wear glorious hats. I plan to spec him to be able to stealth a lot and deal ridiculous ammounts of single target burst damage. He'll be my go-to assassin when mages and tower shield guys show up.

And my Inquisitor will probably be a male Qunari archer rogue, artificer spec. I want to take advantage of the new option to play as a Qunari, and I think a Qunari wearing a long coat and wielding a bow would look totally sick. As an artificer, I imagine he'll be my primary crowd-control specialist, and I'm hoping he'll be able to deliver strong single-target sustained damage, because that would round out my group perfectly.

And you will defeat the Elder One with the power of Rock!

As for my own party, I will be using:
- Human Male 2 Handed Reaver (MDPS/off tank)
- Cassandra (Tank)
- Varric (RDPS)
- Dorian/Solas (RDPS)
Alas, no healer. The trinity is incomplete... :(

My main party:

Female Qunari (Rift Mage): Haven't used a mage in a blind play through yet so I'm starting with this one. Plus its a Qunari mage, you can't get much cooler than that.

Blackwall: My main tank pulling all the aggro with his epic beard and him being a Grey Warden gets an automatic buy in to be in the party

Varric: Not even a second thought about putting him in

Sera/Cassandra: Either or (Though favoring Sera at the moment and with her I get a representative of each race in the party) depending on whether I need more defense/aggro pull or just straight dps.

Everyone else will get their time to shine, but this party is looking like the best fit for me
