I do agree ME3 has that doom and gloom feel and we all reacted in our own way to it and i respect that. For me it was a balance, there was those losses, heck i cried at each one but everytime i went to talk to the crew they all had something uplifting to say even if at first it was negative and that always made me smile. Garrus and Tali for example after Thessia.

But i think BioWare did it right in terms of the feel for the game. There was that false sense of security, everyone knew there was a war on but there was that feeling of denial right up until it was being slammed in their face.

Its the end of ME3 that fuels my curiosity for the next game, everything came down to 1 decision, how are BioWare gonna do this? Does the Milky Way even remain accessible? Do we still get the hub locations we know? Citadel? Omega? What about Squad?  Heck the list goes on and on...  We know we're going to get some nods to the previous games but still, time will tell

These are games I think about even when I am not playing them.  The universe has really drawn me in.

Yep, theres no pleasing everybody. I always ask myself when finishing a game, especially the ME's , Did i enjoy it? Yes?  Screw everybody else if they wanna bash me for it

Well, it's not that.  All of these people that are complaining want their stories tied up with a nice bow, everybody lives, and the hero saves the day.  That's great and all, however...   This type of story gets a tad stale after hearing it 700 million times.

Actually, Mass Effect affected me twice in significant ways that changed how I buy video games.

Mass Effect and ME 2 prompted me to pre-order ME 3, which I had never done before.

Mass Effect 3 prompted me to vow never to pre-order a game again.

Well that may be true, But alas, its whats the players want and when the devs dont deliver, a heck of a storm seems to get going.

I'm afraid i may have to agree with you on that

Not at all.

Good series, but nothing incredibly amazing.

I still play ME 1 and 2.  Its amazing how many hours you can sink into the series - a lot of fun.

Yup. Trilogy runs are fine experiences, even though ME2 has become more and more frustrating with time.

Yeah Mass Effect has slipped into my dreams too. There was this one where I was Shepard and there was a zombie apocalypse. To stop it I had to assemble the help of Liara, Garrus, Tali, and Mordin. We then to the council to talk about how to make a cure. It was the best dream I've ever had.

Overall Mass Effect has affected me in many ways. Mostly I remember and relive the experience Bioware has given us. It's truly something unique and something we can all share together.

Hah! Interesting dream you had there indeed! ;)    Last one i had was a night or 2 ago. Was at the Citadel talking with a Hanar about suspicions of an attack, was about to find my squad but unfortunately woke up. -.-

Every time I walk our dog when it is dark and see the stars does perspectives from Mass Effect pop up, be it a sentimentality for the game itself, or a perspective on my life on the planet earth, our place in the solar system, whirling around in our galaxy alongside other galaxies. Pretty immense. At the same time does a sadness over something space-farers from Nasa pointed out: We are changing our planet in unhealthy ways.

I live far north so I get to see the stars quite often in the cold part of the year, so it is something positive about it :)

Another thing is how it makes me compare and usually dismiss most other games; how can even Dragon Age compete with Mass Effect? Destiny? No way, so simplistic, so uncreative mechanics. No, we got to get more Mass Effect!

I gotta agree that we are indeed changing our planet in an unhealthy way and i wont be all that surprised if that kicks us in the butt when it comes time to meeting other life out there. If we cant look after our own home how the heck can we be trusted with anything, especially concerning other races but thats just my take on it.  I sometimes look at the sky from my back garden, see the stars and wonder about our galaxy and our part in it, pretty immense indeed! :D

I'm glad you've got something positive going with what you do, thats quite awesome :)

Just remember one not completely positive thing: I've gone very sceptical to in-game stores based upon random loot. I certainly try to be generous about my hobbies, but the multiplayer shop is something that eventually made me feel somewhat exploited.

Something that has more inspired a more private dream, or perhaps something deep in my egoistic heart is if my wife, or I, turned into an asari, so we could make little blue babies without a man involved, but that is something for another life I guess, or some very future Mass Effect game (with "Children-pack™" DLC). The downside is of course not being able to play as much Mass Effect... :)

That would be a very interesting other life i think :P

And hey, if the next Mass Effect has our squad members able to have relationships with each other and then also able to have kids? That'd just be awesome!

Taking advantage of the promotion Origin. to begin with Mass Effect 2, then go to Mass Effect 3 import my character with Jack, Tali, Samara and company.

I want all my squad and roam around the universe to reach the last mission on the day of launch, the next mass effect.

I found it a little harder to "get into" ME1 on my latest trilogy run, although I finished it last night and still found certain parts captivating, like the confrontation with Sovereign and talking to Vigil on Ilos. It might be a combination of simply playing it so many times, being more acutely aware of the flaws, and the clunkiness of ME1's combat sometimes making it a bit of a chore to get from point A to point B. I might have been most captivated by the scene with Toombs and Dr. Wayne, as I've never played a FemShep Sole Survivor before now.

I can totally understand, its the same for me, sometimes games start to loose that...spark i guess after repeated playthroughs. I'm on my third run of the triogy this year and while its still fully captivating for me (Heck i still cry at certain points of the games. :(  ) i've decided to spice it up by choosing different attributes of my shep (Instead of Vanguard all the time, although ME1 is the exception, must always be Vanguard if i wanna keep the awesome looks my Shepard has :P (And because im a bit lazy and dont wanna manually do them ) and also taking the occasional renegade choice rather than going full paragon.  Paragade! :D ...Might try a FemShep at some point too!

I agree, amazing indeed! Glad to hear you're thinking of playing again :D

I had a dream that I was skiing (I'm Canadian) with Garrus.

It was only when I woke up that I remembered that turians don't like the cold.
