I don't like aspects of the game from what I have seen from the footage

Pretty extensive list. Sounds like you shouldn't play it?
I don't pay attention to any long gameplay videos, so I don't know everything you're getting into. I'll be buying it though. It's another DA game. I'm already a fan, so I'm sure as hell not skipping it.

Ya people will tell me its too late to complain but I really wanted the game to be good. I tried to talk about some things I didn't like before but we never had this much footage to actually know about the game. I feel like they diverged way too much from the original E3 demo shown a few years back. That one seemed like it had slower and more satisfying combat and wasn't too flashy as this game.
I think they tried to make it too much like action rpgs while mixing with tactical rpgs and did bad at both.

I've never been enthusiastic about what they showed of the DAI combat, but what I've recently seen does indeed not look better at all. I see people saying the attack animations now have "weight" behind them and all I could notice on my screen was characters waving and hacking with their swords until one of them dropped dead. Being hit appears to have no impact at all. DA2's perma stagger on my mage was awful but this is not much of an improvement.
Cassandra suddenly has female Hawke's horrendous jogging animation. Whut?
And I agree about all the flashiness. It's annoying and does not make the combat more exciting. I'm already bored with it after watching it for a few minutes, while I still have fun with DAO's combat.

I'll offer one opinion about combat. You should at least get a feel (by borrowing it or a demo, if they release one), just to see what a difference the lack of healing will make. It might not be super action heavy, like you think. You won't really know this just by looking at videos.

The fact that the the combat is so fast and unimpactful is in itself more actiony. I preferred the slower combat from the original demo but they did away with that in seems in favor of flashier combat. Just because u can't heal without potions isn't gonna make a difference during combat. The combat is the combat. Its only gonna change if you engage certain fights or not based on health.
Do we know if the recent video is video of the final build or a demo build?

I don't think thats an excuse anymore, this is likely the best they have to show otherwise they wouldn't show it a month before release. A month is not enough to fix these things, they are only working on bugs now.
So you're just against fast pace on principle? Fair enough.
I just think you should get the feel of it. How it actually interacts with your mind and hands, etc..
You might be right, but you might not.

I would just wait to pass your judgments until the game comes out. You'll just sour the experience if you remain pessimistic and negative about it. Everyone Bioware fan should know that story always come first. Dragon Age Origins wasn't exactly the prettiest gem with exciting combat. Everyone looked past it for the most part because of what truly is the heart and soul of any Bioware game and that is the relationships you build with the characters and the journey your character goes through.
As for the "graphics issue" you brought up, that is very subjective. Alot of people like myself are thrilled with the new look. It's hard for them to go super crazy with texture size and resolution because they ARE developing for past and current generations. Also keep in mind that those were pre-alpha and alpha builds that we saw. There was still alot of tweaking to be done.
I hope you at least try it with an open mind!

Yes but the gripe is that the enemies don't seem to reflect the attacks at all, they just stand there taking hits, its like NW2 but that game is really old. I would have expected enemies to stagger or show some kind of animation when taking certain hits.

Bioware knows they can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time. I love how the game is looking.

I'm lucky since I'm personally pretty much indifferent to this sort of thing.

I feel the same way except for the female walk/running animation...I love it..very female...how else am I to tell my character/companion is female in this when the armor hides that fact to much by making them look boyish.... ![]()

Also whats with the teleporting when you attack? It looks really unnatural, even enemies do it. Da2 did that kind of thing much better.

Yes we only know someone is a woman by the way that person walks "some creepy hips breaking animations", if you think women walk like that, well I really got nothing more to say.

No offense but a few grainy videos on the combat is really not a good judge of how the game is going to be.
How about waiting to critique once you've seen it on your TV or monitor?
Also...if you are not happy don't buy it. And as for the 8 abilities...I've played games with less than that.
You will adapt. I think your one issue is that you don't like change.

Too much of the game seems like its a game from 2010 with some coat of paint over it, like the enemy reactions and lack of combat reactions/impact.
I expected more improvements and change. The combat looks copied and pasted from da2 which was one of my worst fears. I wanted a more balanced approach between the past two games. Not flashy combat like they have now and not origins slow combat either, there is a middle ground where combat feels a bit slower(without ppl teleporting everywhere) and responsive at the same time.
And grainy videos? They are far from grainy.

Really? The other thread blew up so you make another one and copy paste? Really? Do you not have anything better to do? Ugh...
The other one got deleted cause people kept coming in and derailing the topic. Today I will report anyone that does such things including you.

I think that is not the problem at all, for example I liked DA 2 and DA:O but for DA:I I was expecting more fluid animations and combat, even the youtuber said they were clunky at times. They also put DA 2 animations without improving it, I would expect at least companions to walk differently and with personalty just like DA 2.
So no my problem is they did not change. Also the gameplay video from 2013 seems to have a lot better animations, lighting and effects which is strange.

This that demo was what got me excited now I just feel extremely let down. They literally changed every aspect from that version. I am gonna surprised if you can even burn ships and stuff anymore, they will probably throw that kind of thing as a gimmick that barely changes anything.
