After viewing the latest 8 min game play footage clip I found myself just a little bit puzzled by Varric.

Now, i'm VERY excited by DAI and loved DAO and DA2, and like most people found Varric to be a great character. However, in the clip he was seen leaping around like a jedi. Is he Yoda? Does he control the force?

Just seemed a bit silly to me.

Still can't wait for 21st Nov!!!!!!

I keep seeing people mention him being unusually acrobatic, but he could backflip in DA2 by using Evade.  I can't be the only one who gave him this skill...

Dual-wielding Dwarf Rogue is going to be fun.

I never spent much time micro-managing him in combat, I just sort of let him... shoot things.  I think I noticed his rain of crossbolts more than anything.

Out of combat, lots of attention.  He had some of the best dialogue.

Is Varric Yoda?

Greater facepalm.

Of course not, the Inquisitor is Yoda (take a look at the Inquisitor green palm icon):

No. What you do not in fact know, he's not a Jedi, he's actually a Volus, and he does not command the Force, but Eezo.

I think it has more to do with the typical dwarf mindset, normally we don't see dwarves being all acrobatic. People see Varric as a typical dwarf because of his race but Varric has never been typical imo. He was born on the surface and is a rogue thats wields a massive crossbow. I've never had a problem with him being acrobatic like in DA2 with evade.

Rogue Dwarves CAN jump folks. ^.^

Pretty much this. ^

Dwarves wouldn't really make good rogues if they couldn't be nimble. :P

ran out of likes yet again, and i am in agreement with you, i'm guessing most of the people complaining didn't actually play dragonage 2 with the bad rep its got (no idea why people hated it.) even without using evade, varric and all the other rogues automatically backflip out of the way of traps, like those spikes that come out of the ground in some of the dungeons where you have to pull the leaver to shut them off. anyways +1 like in message form.

The frightening thing is dwarves have higher dex than elves in DAO and I suspect through the series.

Rogue preferred race was given as human, dwarf then elf in that order, back in the day.

Mage order was elf, human.

Warrior order was dwarf, human then elf.

I'll be interested to see if DAI race stats keep that pattern in attributes.

Well, he is a Paragon. Of Manliness.

Surely that comes with some gravity-defying benefits.
