I recommend Vanguard, the funnest class! In ME1 it's practically identical to an Adept, but in ME2 and ME3 it transforms into an amazing class with a unique playstyle, involving slamming yourself straight at your enemies, punching them and shooting them with a shotgun at point blank range! Plus great biotic powers!

Vanguard is my favourite along with Infiltrator(which is more of a gunnery class). Sentinel works if you want a more durable caster, especially with ME2 Tech Armour.

 

Although playing on higher difficulties in ME2 I find can be a bit tricky with the Vanguard's Biotic Charge given how quickly your shields drop on Insanity.

The game of life. I am spending as much time as possible, before I go MIA due to the inquisition. I have talked so much about DAI to my girlfriend that she is willing to try it lol, although she has never played video games.

Vanguards with the singularity bonus power (which you can cheat up by using console commands to unlock) are nearly as good as Biotics in ME1.

Also, a tip, unlike in ME2/3, headshots in ME1 do not matter. You do the same amount of damage hitting the head as you do the foot, so aim for the center mass.
