How? No one has even played it long enough to see if it's impossible or not. Not even normal tanking is super effective in DAI.
DAI is about prevention, not tank and spank.
Because when you automatically gain the attributes you need upon leveling up, it wouldn't make sense for unconventional builds to work because the game is not designed that way. Unless you're suggesting that a Warrior will gain Dex or Cun automatically, which is possible but unlikely.

And I still don't get where this spells/talents stat requirements talk is coming from. Could someone show me some actual proof of that? Because so far, I've seen none.

Because of the way they're being even more restrictive than DA2 in building your character.

Make a custom weapon and armor, put items to up the dex. Bam....A dex build. Not hard.

So what the devs are basically saying is life fibers. Our clothes give us strength and the higher the stars on the goku uniforms, the more ass we can kick.
Bring on the giant scissors and god robes then.

Its not really because you'll have a high base level of strength, and there's still the argument about being forced to craft to achieve this anyway.

I didn't say you can't do it. I said that it will probably not be very effective as gear alone won't bring you on par with the Dex of a rogue.
But again, if you really want to do stuff like that, there's really nothing that keeps you from doing it.

Might be some skills in some trees give you something else than your class's ''primary'' stat. And of course I doubt they will stop you from crafting +dex (for example) gear for warrior if you want to.
Until we've actually played the game, we cannot say how much this will impact things. Personally, shifting the power dynamic from ''put points in category you want, call it a day'' to the more involved crafting sounds like a good idea.
We could at least give Bioware the benefit of the doubt before bashing their gameplay ideas to bits.

It's more fluid actually. If your stats are based on your weapons armor and you can build your weapons and armor any way you want that would mean you can make any build you want.

but the build probably won't be possible because they seem intent on restricting our options, not offering more

Ehm... so? That's not a requirement lol. It says that you will gain +3 Cunning when you unlock it.

Yes, really. You can always put an item that will level up your dex stats in your weapon. It matter not what your base stat is.

Yeah, I don't see a requirement either. It spells it out; picking the skill gives you 3 cunning. it doesn't say you need X cunning to unlock it.

How would it restrict anything if you can build any weapon you want to up the stats you want? The only way they can restrict you is if they restrict the builds you can make.

XD yeah well if they ever wanted to make us feel completely weak in a segement they got an easy way of doing it. Just strip our gear and we'll be as weak as we were in the beginning of the game just about.
Well we won't be as weak as we were at the very beginning of the game. Some skills increase our stats and they did say that stats would increase on their own.

Seriously, if my stats are based on gear and I can make any gear I want, how are may stats limited?

How do you know the base level will be high? We've seen weapons with very high stat boosts, from that it would actually be more likely that base stats are quite low in general, so the likely differential between strength vs dex may not be that great and can be easily mitigated by specific armor builds.
