So I didn't receive the first codex from the first room in the forest ruins as I read on the wikia page for the quest, It wasn't where it was suppose to be. The first one I got was from the fire trap room. Then I went and talked to the nervous traveler in Orzamar. I really want the keening blade, so this is pretty annoying for me. To my knowledge it's the only longsword not required to be equipped to the main hand.

Is there anyway to fix this? Please help.

You can put any longsword in any hand, provided you have the last dual wield talent. Keening blade is no different, only thing special in it (apart from being 2nd most powerful longsword in the game) is that it's warrior only.

O really? I never noticed that.

What would be the most powerful longsword in the game then?

keening blade for the othe hand is an option though :D though for dual wielding daggers are THE thing it's said (and on my solo DW rogue run they did nice (Rose Thorn and The Edge, nice having that one from the start)

I've had no problems going back to the forest ruins in the past, have you tried to go back and check for the item?  Or is this an impossibility in one way or another?

Yea, I've gone back to where the first one was suppose to be, and there's just nothing there. It wasn't there on my first pass either. So now I'll be missing out on the Keening Blade and the Fade Wall :(

I couldn't get the quest on my second run through, either for some reason. And I did everything I did on my first run through where Gaxgang wiped the floor with me. So, no Keening Blade for the Archdemon.

The codex isn't in the forest ruins, its in the ruins from the Urn of Sacred Ashes Quest. It should be on a body down the first left-hand corridor after entering the ruins. The only one in the forest ruins is in the firetrap room, which I believe you state you've already received.

Keening Blade is the best longsword in the vanilla game. If you have Warden's Keep then Starfang is better. My DW Warrior uses both.

Yea, I just figured that out, haha. I feel dumb :/

Right now I'm using Starfang + Maric's Blade which looks badass.
