In the last gameplay video (Classes breakdown from wiki guides, if you want to see it), we got to see that Cassandra is a Templar, Solas is a Rift mage and Varric is an artificer.

I think it's safe to say that they will be the people who teach you those specs, which would make sense since they are the first three party members too.

However, what about the other specializations? I can't see the Reaver spec, assassin, tempest, necromancer or Knight-enchanter being taught by the other companions. I suppose Blackwall could teach you the champion spec, but i think thats unlikely.

How do you think we'll acquire the other specializations?

I don't know if Cass and Solas will give you those specializations. If they will, then I'm imagining it will happen once you gain their trust/ are further into the game/ have done their personal quests. They've said that you gain specializations through certain quests (could have been at the war table, not sure).

maybe leliana or zevran will teach you assassin. knight enchanter is probably viviene's and necromancer is probably dorians.

I doubt they're going to base specialization unlocks on companion approval.

Companions and advisors do not teach specializations. Specializations are unlocked through completing a particular quest.

Whose to say these quests are not completed for the companion that teaches you the spec.

I mean it would feel incredibly stupid to have a Templar, Rift Mage and Artificer companion and go to another teacher to learn these specs

Hmm I think the problem with this is if we choose not to recruit/lose in some way the relevant companion, we'd lose that spec choice. All the specs 'teachable' in DA:O also had manuals to teach them IIRC.

I don't think all of the companion specializations are actually the same exact thing as the ones available to the Inquisitor, lore-wise. I highly doubt Iron Bull uses blood magic, and Cassandra has that deal with the Seeker method of anti-magic techniques.

Plus, some people are not very good at teaching others, as skilled as they may be.

I hope Morrigan has a decent excuse for not teaching The Inquisitor Shapeshifting...

She's pretty protective of her secrets and doesn't like the Inquisitor all that much?

But from what we have seen from trailers she is shown as an ally.

She might have similar goals to the Inquisition, but that doesn't mean she gives away all her secrets. The Warden needed high approval (actually low approval ingame but that's a bug) to get her to teach the specialization and we will likely be less familiar with her this time.

She may not necessarily be on our side for much of the game, if at all. Morrigan plays her own game and we may well be a pawn to her rather than an ally from her perspective
