Let me start by mentioning that nowhere under the Dragon Age section of BSN seemed appropriate for this post, and I had no idea where else to post this, as this is my first time.

I downloaded Dragon Age: Origins on Origin for free, only to discover, to my dismay, that it only runs on a computer in my household that I have less access to. To resolve this, I found that I could get a code for $25 on Xbox Live using an Amazon gift card and purchase DA:O on 360 for ~$15, leaving room for a DLC or two. Alternatively, I could save my money and get Inquisition when it comes out, but only by adding my own money to that of the gift card.

So, in summary:

DA:I: Brand new game, but costs extra and do not know if I would enjoy it.

DA:O for 360: Have spare money for DLC, but still don't know if I would enjoy it or not.

DA:O for PC: Free, but significantly reduced playtime and a 5+ year-old kind of cruddy PC.

Side note: I am a fan of the Mass Effect series, so, if you wish to compare one of the options to the series, by all means, as I could get a better understanding of the DA series.

Any opinions and what I should do would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

I would just play it on the PC rather than spending money on a game that I'd already owned.

If you still want to get it on Xbox 360, you can forget about wasting money on those useless DLCs. Awakening is the only DLC that kind of matters but it's still not worth the price tag in my opinion. So unless you can get the complete game + all DLCs package for a low price (like $10 for everything), you should just ignore the DLCs.

If you want to get DA:I, you should get it for Xbox One or PS4 instead. Despite how bad DA 2 is, I think it's also a good idea to play it before you start DA:I, just so you can get a better idea of the premise of the story and the player character.

Reading these posts just makes me feel so glad that I'm not a kid anymore.  :D
