Background:

 

Adopted into the Trevelyan noble family of Ostwick in the Free Marches, Edwin were originally intended for a life of privilege—until magical abilities surfaced years later. No one knows why Edwin has developed the ability to use magic and he never shown signs of being born with magic. Members of the Trevelyan family believes that the answer may be in his past before he was found. Soon after the discovery of his magic abilities, he was forced into a life of confinement within Ostwick's Circle of Magi. Protected but stifled, educated but isolated, the Circle would have been your entire future had the mages not rebelled against Chantry rule. Like it or not, he had to fight for his life against templars hunting down all "free" mages. Edwin joined the delegation of mages attending a Chantry conclave in hopes of negotiating peace with the templars. It didn't go well and he was caught in the explosion. Before he awoke Edwin heard an unknown voice saying “The time has arrived. Now the contract will be fulfilled.”

Male Elven Mage (Knight Enchanter) [True Neutral] - Romance: probably none...; politically neutral for now...

 

This character is relatively new, so I haven't thought much on the details of his backstory or personality... I do know that he is extremely wary of Templars and is very uncomfortable being around them.  Their presence is a big part of the reason why he has no desire to be a part of the Inquisition, and he is only cooperating because his own life is tied to their success.  At most, he will work with Templars but will keep them at a distance, since the very concept of mage-hunters/controllers is alien to him.  I have no idea how this will effect his decisions with regards to the mage-Templar war, but for the most part he knows very little about human lands and at the beginning of his journey he will have no interest in such things.  He'll probably never get used to being around them, but we'll see.

 

Edit:  So this character was originally going to be Lawful or Neutral Evil, but I think that I will go with True Neutral instead...

I am a big fan of the mages and through out all the da games i was a mage (male or female) and i always stayed beside the mages (and demons sometimes, but thats beside the point). So the one thing i am 100% sure is that i want to destroy every templar i see on my way. It love to see in this game that i will have the ability to use "dark magic" for the "greater good".

He's also a clever, unorthodox strategist and surprisingly shrewd diplomat. However on the other hand he's quite a deceitful, he likes to play dumb and use his dull face and sluggish stare to fool people into thinking that he's a simple mindless brute. Despite that he's usually prefer to talk with his enemies or neutral party before engaging in combat. He can be downright ruthless to his enemy.

Nayllen "nayl" trevelyan

Rift mage

Bio: found to be magically attuned at 7 he was taken to the isolationist circle in ostick by his sister who was the KC there and felt it better to watch family rather than by strangers. He was assigned to the first enchanter kristof who was a relitive on his fathers side. Nayl was considered a magical prodigy capable of advanced spells and rituals by the age of 10. After being harrowed at 16 he wrote a paper on the fade and its denizens that gained widespread attention by other mages in thedas earning him his enchanter status. During his "research trips" into the fade, he started a relationship with templar named kara due to having to have him screened for demonic possesion. After 4 years of reletive bliss kara and nayl planned a wedding on the day that the MT war broke out with the festivities interuppted the mages and templars of ostwick fought the invaders. During the battle kara was killed and his sister told him and kristof to run.

Personality: sarcastic, witty, lewd/perverse and somewhat arrogant. Nayl was a breath of fresh air in the circle while a prodigy that occasionally acted like a insufferall a** he was never without a joke and always made the children smile

Zelthanos Lavellan was born of a dalliance between two clan keepers. Due to the tremendous amount of magic brought together everyone thought that he would be born with magic and possibly become the next keeper. Thirteen years the clan spent waiting on who they believed would eventually lead and protect them but alas nothing. Zelthanos was born without the gift of magic and this became sort of an outcast in his clan with no one to turn to but his mother.

Zelthanos was no mage but was heavily interested in magic nonetheless. Since he wasn't born with magic he was required to start to learn how to hunt and fight as a dalish hunter but after his lessons he continued his studies with his mother by learning how to make potions and other interesting tonics.

7 years later he became adapt at alchemy that he was able to drink a potion that lit himself on fire but would not become burned, though testing this potion lit the forest his clan camped in on fire. The clan, including the keeper, shunned him and avoided contact with him as much as possible.

The keeper learned that there was to be a meeting at the village of Haven between the templars and mages. She didn't know too much of the situation so she decided to call for some volunteers to spy on the meeting. Seeing this as a way to redeem himself Zelthanos volunteered. The keeper sadly nodded and Zelthanos packed up and started on his journey to Haven.

Zelthanos is a dual-wielding rogue with the tempest specialization. He may not be the most skilled rogues but he can get the job done. He believes in freedom and therefore will likely side with the mages in their war. He is both clever and diplomatic but may be direct if the situation is dire.

He first sees Dorian as a monster since he hails from a land that enslaves the elves but learns that Dorian isn't like any of the Tevinter magisters and eventually falls in love with him. Zelthanos sees a lot of himself in Cole and becomes very close with him and ends up being like a brother to him. Zelthanos and Varric seem to get along very well but like most dalish Zelthanos has a hard time understanding Varric's sarcasm. Zelthanos and cassandra may end up clashing with eachother but seem to respect eachother tremendously. Blackwall may turn out to be the father Zelthanos lacked all his life and the two may grow close. Zelthanos sees Sera as someone who submitted to her fate and has no respect for her at first. Zelthanos is suspicious of Iron Bull due to the lack of knowledge of the qunari and as such he will most likely keep tabs on him. Even though he is not of the dalish, Solas has proven to be as proud and independent as one and the two respect eachother greatly. Vivienne is a viper to Zelthanos and is worried that she is only in the inquisition for her own personal gain. Zelthanos may end up clashing with Leliana and possibly Cullen (depending on his current views on magic and freedom) but may get along with Josephine.
