Been my plan to go for Human Male Inquisitor for a long time.

Decided to have a Dalish for my DAO story since the Dalish prologue has more connection to DA2.

Name: Eldwin Lavellan

Race: Elf

Gender: Female

Class: Mage

Specialization: not sure yet

Personality: Diplomatic

Romance: Cullen

I like to think in this origin that the Keeper you were First of was something akin to Marethari, trying to be reasonable between the existence of elves and shems compared to other clans of the Dalish.  That's a little of my head-canon talking, of course, but that's what I'm picturing and going to try and emulate in game.

However, my responses to certain decisions in the game will most likely vary, especially for a first playthrough.  Also, it depends on what the game gives me in the particular situations.  I usually try to do what's best for all parties involved or to remain neutral if I don't agree with either side.  But, I might be forced to take stands and hard lines in this one.... >_>

Name: Elizabeth Nancy Trevelyn(ENT) This will be my canon character that I will use for mulitple playthroughs.

Class: Mage. most likely Knight Enchanter

Weapon: Staff that can be used as a spear. Her staff is powerded by the souls of the ones she's killed. The more she kills, the more power her staff gains. Its also been rumored that when she uses her staff as a spear, it can leave an enemy impaled against the rock. On the top of her staff is an upside down skull that drips blood out of its sockets. If anyone else was to touch or try to use her staff, they would be poisoned and die a few moments later. And lastly, her right hand with 1 inch fingernails that are laced with poison that can rip through the flesh of the enemy.

Physical looks: She is a beauty with very long hair. The color of blood. With eyes that look like oceans and when in combat her eyes change color to a pure black.

Personality: She is evil. She has a black heart. When she wants something done, she will resort to any means necessary to get it done. She doesn't care about the consequences. She has one weakness. Children. Or at least that's if the stories are to be believed. One story that is being told is that several years ago, she saw 2 men beat up a child. She followed them back to their camp where over 30 people resided. During the night she was able to strip them naked , tie them all to the trees and pour oil on them. She took the leader and nailed him to an upside down cross. When the sun rose, all the men watched her skin their leader alive and burn his body. She then burned all the men and women with their screams being heard throughout the valley.

She went back to the child and noticed her parents were dead by the hands of the bandits. She dug two graves for her parents and then took her to the nearest town to be cared for. She gave the girl a small bag of gold coins. To this day, some believe she is still watching over the child.

When she walks into cities, the air becomes cool, people lock themselves in their homes. They only know one thing. Death has arrived and he** follows her. Kings and Queens bow before her for they not challenge her power. Even the devil approaches her for advice. She will close the veil, but her ultimate goal is to rule Thedas with an iron fist.

Companions: She doesn't need any, but if she has them, she wants them all female. Not because she likes women, but because it gives the enemy a false sense of victory making them weak.

Romance:  Josephine

Imperia Trevelyan, a hardcore Templar and something of a bigot. She thinks her status as Herald of Andraste is nothing less than The Maker's blessing on her crusade to wipe out all mages. Imperia has a particular distaste for the Dalish, who she sees as nothing less than a bunch of heathen blood mage primitives. Sword-and-Shield Warrior, planning on a Cullen romance.

Nibenay Lavellan, brutal Dalish "freedom fighter" who thinks he can build a new Arlathan on the ashes of the human empires. He's thoroughly disgruntled that fate has elected to make him deal with a bunch of shem garbage rather than go burn down villages and look through ruins. Pyromancer Mage, no romance planned but considering a sex-swap for Solas.

Then I've got loose plans for a fun-loving Dwarf Rogue (Bow) who romances Sera and a Qunari Mage who longs for the Qun and romances Bull.

Name: Talan Trevelyan (Trevelyan is a Cornish surname so I used a Cornish first name that I liked to fit the theme)
Race: Human (Obviously)
Class: Warrior
Prefered Weapon Set: Sword and Shield. Talan fights like a foot soldier, but more skillfully then a common man.
Personality: Believes in equality for all, is deeply interested in foreign cultures, is patriotic and loves his family and homeland, is willing to defend his friends and family to the death but believes that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few and as such, will sacrifice something he holds dear in order to preserve the future of Thedas.

He acts like a noble, thinks like a soldier, and has a specific idea for the tye of women he would like to be at his side. He's a man who knows what he wants.

Looks: White with dark hair and stubble, a stern face with "handsome" features.

Name: Pegneth

Race: Elf

Gender: Female

Class: Mage

Specialization: Necromancy

Personality: Sarcastic

Romance: none but just casual flings.

Introduction

Fascinated with the dark places of the fade the baroness likes to push the limits with her abilities. The only problem is her fellow elves are not so found of her dabbling in the evil and her willingness to converse with evil spirits. Her fascination with life and death has desensitized her as she believes people don't truly die, they are just reborn in another place. This does not mean she is violent, the baroness uses her grace and seduction to solve her problems but this does not mean she is a slouch on the battle field as she possesses great necromancy prowess and is also adept at spirit magic. Lacriox is selfish, ruthless and will only do something if it benefits her. One would even describe her neutral evil

Even though her outlook on life is a bit unorthodox to some, she hides all of this behind a sarcastic personality. Most that know her are deeply are surprised that she thinks in such a way. Most that know her say she uses her humor to hide her scary side.[The writing is shitty but whatevs]

Name: Jorus Ahriman Trevelyan

Race: Human

Age: 32

Spec: Necromancer

Personality: Agressive/Direct

Traits: Ruthless, extremely power-hungry and rules with an iron fist.

Romance: Cassandra

Jorus was born to the Trevelyan family in Ostwick, at the age of six he was found to have magical talent and was taken to the Ostwick Circle. There he met the love of his life Sariah a human mage and his best friend Velernn an elven mage. Jorus embraced his magical talents and became prideful of his status as a mage ignoring the Chantry's constant reminder that magic is terrible. During his training Jorus became extremely interested in the Tevinter Imperium fascinated by its culture he wished that things change for mages to rule themselves without the Chantry and Templar's yoke on them, this also cause Jorus to become resentful of the Chantry for denying his noble birthright.

Jorus, Sariah and Velernn passed their Harrowing becoming full fledge mages with the three of them hoping to become enchanters so they could join the Libertarians however that would never be as the events of Kirkwall and that of the White Spire saw that the tenuous peace between mages and templars shattered. The Templars of Ostwick turned on the mages without provocation, many of the mages who defended themselves were hesitant and so the Templars had the upper hand however Jorus, Sariah, Velernn and several mages unleashed their full powers against the Templars turning the tide of the battle. The Mages escaped Ostwick and join with their brethren from the other Free Marches cities.

During the last days of the Mage-Templar war( before the peace conference) Jorus, Sariah, Velernn and a band of mages battle against a force of Templars with various skirmishes taking a toll on both forces. Jorus and Knight-Captain Halfyre of Ansburg agreed to a ceasefire on the news that the Chantry, Templar and Mage leadership would be meeting in Haven to end the war. Unknown to the mages however the Knight-Captain had lost his son in the earlier skirmishes and was not about to let his son's murderers escape justice. The templars attacked the mages at their camp during the night caught them unprepared. Velernn died on the initial fight and Sariah was heavily wounded, Jorus and Sariah escaped but their fellow mages were slaughter to the last mage by the Templars. Sariah succumbed to her wounds decimating Jorus's morale. With his beloved and best friend dead Jorus decided on a suicidal attack on the templars. Jorus struck the templars the same way they did with the mages however despite his best efforts the templars outnumbered him. The Knight-Captain decided to execute Jorus personally just before he swing his sword Jorus used his last remaining strength to summon a firestorm.

Jorus escaped while all of the Templars burned around him. He left the Free Marches a broken man to Haven having heard that his family members would attend at the peace summit. Unknown to him his life would change forever...

Name:  Galen Adaar (Age 27)

Race:  Qunari

Gender:  Male

Class:  Mage

Spec:  Rift Mage

Personality:  friendly, inquisitive, introverted, contemplative, diplomatic, cooperative, unusually open with the people he likes, prefers to understand all sides of an issue before making judgments, tries to make peace and act as a mediator, enjoys fights that he knows/believes are inevitable, opposes zealotry and extremism in all of its forms

cautious and realistic on most issues (ie. believes the Circle is a necessary evil, but would like to see it reformed and Mages given more freedoms within the system, or that the Elven rebellions are justified, but are occurring at an extremely inopportune time), willing to sacrifice his ideals if necessary

I've code named my main playthroughs through DA:O/A and DA2. Each one will be continued with a similar theme in DA:I. These are The Guardian, The Mercenary, The Heretic and The Evangelist. I'll just share two of them.

The Guardian
Name: Galahad Trevelyan
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Class: Warrior
Specialization: Champion
Personality: Diplomatic, friendly, protective, impulsive, confident, caring.
Romance: Cassandra
Intended Traits: As your classic do-gooder, Galahad will be doing his best to bring peace and stability to Thedas. If there's an alternative to fighting, he'll find it. If not then both sides of the conflict better bunker down as they're both a threat to Galahad's desire for peace.

The Heretic
Name: Tabassum Adaar
Race: Tal-Vashoth
Gender: Female
Class: Mage
Specialization: Rift Mage
Personality: Aggressive, ambitious, cold, controlling, power hungry, sarcastic, stubborn
Romance: Iron Bull
Intended Traits: The irony in her name (which means 'smiling' in Arabic) is that she doesn't. Or when she does it's a sinister, wicked smile which is backed by malicious thoughts. Tabassum wants nothing more than freedom and complete control as a totalarian. To her the end justifies the meand, even if the end means creating her own twisted bit of paradise. She is all too willing to sacrifice Thedas to do so.

Here's my Inquisitor:

Name: Jeremiah Trevelyan
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Class: Warrior
Weapon-type: Two-Handed (mainly swords)
Specialization: Champion
Personality: Determined, focused, friendly, honest but judgmental. Tries to look at all sides and weighs his options carefully before deciding.
Romance: Cassandra
Intended Traits: Stays true to what he believes, but knows the hard road must be taken. He believes in the Maker differently than what's commonly taught, believing that the Chantry distorted Andraste's words and story, and that the Maker hasn't truly abandoned His creation but is working behind the scenes and speaking to whomever may believe.

I went with a two-handed warrior this time around due to my human noble Warden being a dual-wielding warrior and my male Hawke being a sword-and-shield warrior. Figured I'd keep the Warrior line alive but go with two-handed to keep each character different.

My first Inquisitor:

Name: Jon Trevelyan

Race: Human

Age: 21

Class: Warrior

Spec: Templar

Romance: Cassandra

Personality: Flirty, fun-loving smartass who seems to take nothing seriously, but in reality is a bit insecure and unsure of where he belongs, as he believes it most definitely isn't the Templars or nobility. Mostly 'Clever' and 'Diplomatic' dialogue choices.

Background: The youngest son of the Trevelyan family is quite often also considered the least of the Trevelyans as well. His trouble-making, seemingly hedonistic demeanor and personality has gotten him into trouble since youth, especially given his family's Chantry roots and his expected career path - and thus, he's grown to resent that ever since. He has no ill will for the Chantry, its procedures or people, and believes in the Maker, but he just knows it isn't where he belongs. He's come close to being disowned once or twice, rumors have swirled around that he's even a bastard child. He got along well with his older siblings, but one by one they seemed to file out of the family and into service of the Chantry. Jon himself would have followed suit - if he didn't challenge the Grand Cleric to a wine-guzzling contest and flirt with a couple of sisters while he was being initiated.

Seeing it as the last straw, his father sent him off to the Chantry conclave to make himself useful to his relatives, swearing he would be disowned from the family once and for all if he refused. Despite his tenuous relationship with the rest of his house, his noble links did give him a sense of purpose that he felt he lacked, so he begrudgingly agreed.

If his father saw him now, he'd probably have a heart attack.

Looks: Long, black hair, slightly unkempt stubble. More or less based around Jon Snow appearance wise. (which is where I nicked the name from too, yeah.) Not many similarities beyond that though. :P

So you'll pick the generic default ?

Don't judge how other people play a single player game. Their gameplay experience is their own. Who are you to say otherwise?

I always play a male human warrior/soldier type on my first playthrough, because that's what I enjoy. I intend to play a female Qunari afterwards. One playthrough does not equal another.

Y'know, I actually had an idea for an Inquisitor a while back:

City Elf. A bit sarcastic, wise guy. Not much of a fighter, really. He's a rogue, but not Hero status or anything. Not even religious either. Never fails to point that out to the Chantry.

Here's his real power: He has uncanny powers of deduction. Just looking at you, he can tell you what you ate last Tuesday. Digging a little deeper, he can drag out all your deepest, darkest secrets. So something of a Sherlock Holmes of Dragon Age. Someone who can look at the Warden and determine whether or not the Dark Ritual was used. Or trade snark and witty banter with Sarcastic Hawke.

I often go with default names in DA games. Generally because I like them. I had plenty of Marian and Garretts in DA2, and in DAO I had a Kallian Tabris and a Theron Mahariel and a Solona Amell. I had 3 Kallians, actually, but that's another story. My 'canon' is a Kallian Tabris/Marian Hawke run.

Ergo:

Name: Karaas Adaar

Class: Rogue

Spec: Undecided. Leaning towards Artificer.

Weapon Style: Dual Daggers

Personality: Suave, easy-going roguish type. Generally savvy.

Romance: Cassandra/Dorian (will decide when I play).

My Canon Inquisitor, following in the footsteps of other Human Male Mages.

Name: Rodrigo Trevelyan, Male, AKA Rodge

Race: Human and proud.

Class: Mage

Specialization: Necromancer

Romance: Cassandra

Personality: Sarcastic, Power Hungry, Ruthless, Cynical, Witty, Thirst for knowledge.

Bio: Born the youngest of the esteemed Trevelyan family in the Free Marches city of Ostwick, Rodrigo was expected to end up in the Chantry as was the family tradition, that was until his magical abilities were discovered. Sent of to the Circle in Ostwick, Rodrigo, Rodge to his friends, excelled as a mage, taking a great interest in the history of the Tevinter Imperium and passing his Harrowing with ease. Despite living a comfortable life, he was always bitter about being denied to be anything other as a mage. While he never felt any shame or regret of his powers, he disliked the Chantry denying him his noble title. While does believe in the Maker and Andraste, his views are more similar to the Imperial/Tevinter Chantry than the more orthodox creed. Of course he keeps quiet about his beliefs and maintains the facade of being a lapse Chantry goer, not eager to face the gallows over religious differences.

He took great interest in the deeds of the Hero of Ferelden, Saruman Amell and the Champion of KIrkwall, Horus Hawke, citing them as proof that mages freed from Chantry supervision could be useful and trusted. He was shocked to hear of the actions of the Templars in Kikrwall, attempting to annul an entire Circle for the crimes of a single apostate. Upon hearing the stories from the survivors who fled thanks to the Champions assistance, he was convinced that the Chantry would never allow mages freedom, he joined several of his fellows in revolt, striking back against his Templar wardens and destroying their phylacteries. He joined up with the gathering at Andoral's Keep and spent most of his time training and studying the old fort. As a mostly moderate Libertarian he was chosen by the Grand Enchanter to be part of the delegation to attend the peace conference at the Temple of Sacred Ashes. While personally he doesn't beleive much will come of it, he was ecstatic to visit the ancient Temple and maybe see the Urn himself. Then the Breach happened, and Rodrigo became one of the first mages in centuries to enter the Fade and return physically. Immediately realizing the threat posed by the Breach, he is determined to repair the Veil and bring an end to the chaos as quickly as possible. If he manages to fulfill several of his own personal goals at the same time, all the better.
