I hope they don't downplay the PS4 to be on par with the Xbox One, but to be honest, I wouldn't be able to tell if they did.

I watched the stream and heard what Mark actually said i.e. "I imagine people can probably figure that out." and was disgusted by the lengths that some 'news sites' can go for hits. I appreciated that you guys finally showed the PS4 version and although the stream quality was a bit low (Not your fault in the least), the game looks amazing and I look forward to buying it with my PS4 come November. 

 

I am extremely excited for the game and will literally be obsessing until Nov...and beyond... Side note can you comment on remote play?

'games journalism'. At this point I'm not even going to say anything further.

 

Ok, I lied. I am seriously wondering if some 'gaming news' sites are purposefully trying to sabotage DA:I. The amount of articles full of mistakes and misinformation (some of which came from people who actually visited Bioware and still couldn't get their information correct), the number of nonsense clickbait articles where they take dev tweets out of context and concoct entire narratives around them that try to paint either the devs or the game in the worst possible light.

 

I don't believe what these buffoons write, but there will be a lot of people who don't follow the games' development closely that will be so misinformed and misled by stuff like this.

I doubt it is that Bioware didn't put in the effort to get it up there, its more like the X1 can't handle that high cost textures while maintaining an acceptable frame rate. That isn't really something that can be fixed (until next gen console come out... in 6 years judging by prev/current gen duration).

 

It sucks for X1 users, but microsoft went for cheap rather than good.

Oh, I wasn't meaning to imply that BioWare was cutting corners or anything, just that this kinda sucks for the XBO owners in general to get a "worse" game (although how much of a difference those 180 extra pixels are going to make is... not much, AFAIK) even though they've paid just as much (or more) money for their console as the people who went with PS4. Some people are bound to feel kinda cheated.

 

But, regarding your latter point about fixing it: what we see on the consoles now isn't definitive - look at PS3 and the difference between the launch-titles (such as, say, the first Uncharted) and the late-cycle games (Last of Us, for example). As the devs get more used to the new consoles and the consoles themselves get patched and tweaked during the generation we start getting more and more out of them, both in terms of graphics and performance. I have no doubt this is the case with current generation consoles as well.
