So we've gotten a lot of hints that Arlathan would make an appearance in Dragon Age Inquisition, for example this picture :

Dragon-Age-Inquisition-Arlathan-Concept-

with this caption : “And thus was mighty Arlathan cast down, its people swallowed by darkness–never to rise again… Here lies the abyss, the well of all souls. From these emerald waters doth life begin anew''

For me, this really set in stone what character i wanted to play. The Dalish origin in DAO was so interesting and later had connections with the Witch Hunt DLC and you got tons of special interactions from being an elf, and for being a nomad Dalish one too. I also loved that in DA2, the Dalish Warden is probably the one that is mentionned the most, being a friend of Merrill and seeing his clan.

Now in DAI, if we have the opportunity to see ARLATHAN, i just can't pass up the opportunity to see the lost city of the elves with a Dalish elf. It'd really come full cycle for me since my Dalish Warden's goal was to bring glory to the Dalish, and then my Dalish Inquisitor could reclaim the elves' lost glory. I think it's not gonna have the same emotional impact on me if i play through it as a human, dwarf or qunari, also since i think none of these races will experience a plot point so important to their race

I feel the same way!  I really love the elven history and my favorite Origins characters are either the Dalish or the elf mage who is obsessed with her ancestors.  I can't wait to find out more about Arlathan!

I'm hoping that that the ruins really are Arlathan and we're able to go there. My Dalish Inquisitor is going to geek out! ^_^

Of course, if it turns out to just be the ruins of the giant rotating water arena from Catching Fire, I wouldn't mind either!

I doubt it's THE Arlathan, as the big city was up in the north near Tevinter. That said, I think the location pictured above is one of the few remaining temples/fortresses of the Arlathan elves, in the Arbor Wilds probably.

And what if it's already occupied, and its inhabitants see you as a bunch of degenerate inbred rednecks?

I think it will be rather unlikely, since Arlathan was far north of the area we'll be dealing with. We may find relics of the civilization itself, but for the most part Arlathan was concentrated outside of where we will be.

Pretty sure they said we wouldn't go to Arlathan, sadly
