The way I see it, and this is all speculation and guesswork at this point, is that the Hunter is more focused on traps and sneaky archery maneuvers than the 'main' Archer character. After all, you can't just run in screaming at your quarry...unless it's already dead, but then that's just awkward to see some guy screaming and kicking a corpse. It'd be like one of my family reunions.

Well, we have two of every weapon style. We've got enough talents going around to distinguish them mechanically.
Though Archer and Hunter seem unusually close thematically, what with them both being male human woodsy archers

In the "Last Batch of MP Characters" thread it was proposed that the Hunter may be one of the fabled Fog Warriors of Seheron. This would make him or her markedly different from Hall the Dalish-trained Human Archer. Also it would imply the Hunter might use some type of "magical" stealth mechanic. However the card art for the Hunter shows green, not white armor as the Fog Warriors are said to paint their armor, so who knows.I don't get why their both male humans(probably straight and white too). It seems way boring to me.
Due to the face mask and ambiguous body shape in the card, it is also possible this is a tal-vashoth or elven, male or female character. We will have to unlock to find out. Is it November 18th yet? If not, why not? We demand answers, darnit!

That'd be interesting, a cc focused archer. I actually kind of like that. I was worried we might HAVE to take a tank (a lot of devs talk about how hard it is w/o one) and maybe with a hunter things would be possible w/o one.

Don't worry Vilho, I'll tank all the hits for you.
As a hunter. and I will die constantly because it's in my nature to tank and I just-

Maybe the hunter will also be more single target focused where the archer carpets an area?

I think the Archer will be more "Assassin", and the Hunter more along the lines of "Tempest". I decided I'm gonna roll archer. Thought I might shoot my way out. Mix things up a little.

To me the Hunter sounds like more of a support archer. AKA, single target damage. Traps and or other similar CC like abilities. Maybe some sort of mark target buff. Those things sound like Hunter to me.
For Archer, really thinking some sort of assassin/Bow cross reference.

The Tarot card for the Hunter shows him camoflagued, so I'm wondering if he's all about striking from stealth for high single target dps where as the archer is more cc, ranged aoe? Definitely doing one or the other as my alternate to Necromancer.
