I don't think we've posted/released any, and I think chances for doing so are pretty low. Have we released any gen3 screens/vids? (not actually sure) If so, they might perhaps be a close comparison?

You could also send a tweet to someone on marketing and ask if they have any plans like that.

Okay, thanks!  Just wondering, I suppose, if I should hold off on playing DA:I until I can afford a new system or try to play it on my five-year-old, minimum-spec gaming laptop.  Maybe the experience would be excruciating.  On the other hand, you folks wouldn't have posted minimum specs if the game wasn't playable on minimum.  How did you find it on such a system?

So, I looked up desktops and wondering whether this system would be adequate?

Processor: Intel© Quad Core™ i7-4790 (8M Cache, 3.6 GHz)

Operating System: Windows 8.1

1TB Hard Disk with additional 256GB SSD

Memory: 16GB DDR3 1333Mhz

Graphics : nVidia GTX770 2Gb

Absolutely fine, unless you plan on running it on some outragously huge resolution.

You should have a function "device manager" under control panel/system, where the graphics card is listed. Not sure how that works in Windows 8, though. My new system hasn't arrived yet.

I think I found it under "Display Adapters"

AMD Radeon HD 8610G

So, if I understood correctly, the reqs are basically the same as Battlefield 4's. I wonder if I should get BF4 to test how my computer fares...

You sure? The way I read it DAI wants a substantially better CPU than BF4.

People will post screenshots and even videos on low settings when it's released, I'm sure.

i assume you wont have that much fun with your 560ti. it may has 2GB VRAM, but it´s still a 560ti. the 660 already is about 35% faster.

looks good. if you want to upgrade something, then the gpu. btw 7850 or 7870?

After running GPU-Z, seems to be a 7870, possibly higher! My system just states the 7800 series.

I've been looking at a laptop with these specs:

AMD Elite A10-5750M Quad-Core processor 3.5GHz, 4MB L2 Cache

8GB DDR3 SDRAM

AMD Radeon HD 8650G Graphics with up to 4206MB total graphics memory

I know it won't play ultra, but this should play Inquisition adequately, right?

It's an HP.

Thank You!! :)

I forgot how much of a nightmare Windows 8 Metro was since I never use it after I installed a Start menu. But you should go to Metro and click Control Panel. Then click System and Security then click Device Manager which is under System heading. In the Device Manager, expand Display Adapters and you should see your AMD Radeon, e.g. AMD Radeon HD Series.

While you're at it, you might as well check your Windows Experience Index.

Totally not really happy with the PC UI.  Maybe get rid of that terrible opaque dock and it should be fine. Still I don't understand why the health bar is taking up so much space.  Should have incorporated with the round avatar.

From the video preview it'd appear the border of avatar pictures is used for circular indicator of mana/stamina. Perhaps they found that having also health bar *and* the barrier/block indicators etc there was making it too busy and hard to read at a glance?

Those screen shots look incredible!

There have been a number of PC gameplay videos of DAI but really, seeing it on YouTube - even at 1080p (rendered at 30fps ) - doesn't really do the game justice. For those of you with higher end rigs or ones that meet the recommended specs, this game is going to look absolutely amazing!

This system will be able to run DAI relatively comfortably.

I suspect you could probably run a mix of medium and high settings (barring any demanding AA settings) at 1080p with a fairly smooth frame rate.

Cheers for the advice, how is this rig in comparison? Would this be better or worse than the previous? Debating which hefty pricetag to pick from?

Operating system: Windows 8.1 64 Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-4790 with Intel® HD Graphics 4600 (3.6 GHz, 8 MB cache, 4 cores)

RAM: 16 Gb DDR3 (2 x 8 Gb); Total slots: 4 DIMM

Hard Drive: 256 GB SATA SSD; 3 TB 7200 rpm SATA; DVD SATA writer

Video; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 (2 GB GDDR5 dedicated)

Min specs these days don't seem to be the actual minimum. They're more the minimum specs that will produce performance that BioWare would be willing to call adequate.

So, if you have knowledge of exactly what the minimum components actually do, and you know that your hardware can basically do that, I'd say go for it.

I remember playing Ultima Underworld (arguably the first properly 3D first-person game) many years ago, and it actually let you turn off the environment textures, replacing them with solid colours, to improve performance.

On the system I mentioned, it really wasn't too bad! Certainly not a great framerate, and I didn't get to any bigger areas or combats with more than 2-3 enemies, but it ran pretty stable and still looked shiny. I'm sure settings could be tweaked further to get an acceptable balance. This will really depend on tolerance levels from person to person though.

I suspect the combats and AI and such might be more complex in DAI, but it's still probably a fairly close baseline performance comparison.

I suspect it has more to do with the special status indicators that show up around the health bars that indicate the additional "ablative hp" when in effect.

I personally think it is a vast improvement over DA2 and I like the relocation of the avatars to the top left of the screen like it was in DAO.

Thank you very, very much!  Being able to play the game straight away will be great, even if I have to turn every setting way down.  :)  I am in this much more for the world and characters than the shiny goodness, as delightful as shiny goodness is.

I think I could run the game on low or medium setting with my PC.
But I planned some time ago to upgrade it so it's the right time to do it

Will we be able to turn off some of the visual clutter, thinking mostly warrior/rogue ability special effects since they look a bit OTT, to improve performance?

Barrett, if you can answer this:

will there be an ability to adjust the size of the UI elements so they don't take up too much screen real estate.  Like that "Regions Discovered" section in the upper right.  Will we be able to size that down a bit, or disable it?

Exceed every recommended requirement except VRAM and RAM which I'm at (have a 780 Ti though so not worried!)

Game looks great, can't wait! As long as it runs as well as Shadow of Mordor I'll be very happy.

OS : Windows 7 Premium 64 Bit
CPU : Intel® Core i3-2100 CPU @ 3.1GHz
RAM : 8.00 GB
GPU : GeForce GT 630 2GB

Not the most savvy when it comes to these stuff. Would I be able to at least swing mid range without upgrading (the GPU probably needs to be done innit)?

I'm in the same boat Dual Core 3.2 processor means I buy on Xbox One first and wait until I can get t he PC really version cheap to see if it will run.

"Check out the first look at the beautiful PC version of Dragon Age: Inquisition!

Wait, so... Everything we've seen has really been on the XBOX One? I thought it was PC footage, just using a controller

I don't want to give you false hope or anything, but to be honest, you're very borderline and I think the only way to tell if you can run DAI for sure is to actually test it (or BF4). These AMD APUs don't have dedicated VRAM.
