"Check out the first look at the beautiful PC version of Dragon Age: Inquisition!

Wait, so... Everything we've seen has really been on the XBOX One? I thought it was PC footage, just using a controller

They might just mean PC with the actual PC UI.

Will we be able to turn off some of the visual clutter, thinking mostly warrior/rogue ability special effects since they look a bit OTT, to improve performance?

Barrett, if you can answer this: ((snip))

Ask me again sometime next week or so, I'm not sure what all we're still going to show in vids/livestreams. Not to actually confirm/deny these specifically, but there are a fair variety of graphics and interface settings.

I can run bf4 on minimum settings quite smoothly, it gets pretty laggy on medium though. So even with my low graphics card I should be able to run DAI on low then?

I wonder why they say a Radeon HD 7870, and yet also say 3 GB recommended for GPU RAM. Is there a version of that card with 3 GB? I have the Sapphire "Ghz Edition" and it only has 2 GB.

And I find the CPU settings rather amusing, but I suppose this was never going to be an intensive game.

Looks like I'm good to go, unless "recommended" means "recommended for 720p" like some seem to do.

AMD Radeon HD 8400 512 MB

4 GB Ram

Its a lap top so not much chance of changing this stuff before release

I know Im on the low end but all ive got at the moment?  Will this even be able to run the game?

Well it looks like I need to upgrade the girls PC, unless I want to share. (I don't).  Maybe I can convince her playing the PS4 version will be fine.

Cheers for the advice, how is this rig in comparison? Would this be better or worse than the previous? Debating which hefty pricetag to pick from?

Operating system: Windows 8.1 64 Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-4790 with Intel® HD Graphics 4600 (3.6 GHz, 8 MB cache, 4 cores)

RAM: 16 Gb DDR3 (2 x 8 Gb); Total slots: 4 DIMM

Hard Drive: 256 GB SATA SSD; 3 TB 7200 rpm SATA; DVD SATA writer

Video; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 (2 GB GDDR5 dedicated)

These specs compared to what you previously asked about seem to be near identical. In fact, in terms of gaming performance, they would be identical.

Both have an i7-4790 which is a top tier consumer grade CPU (disregard the integrated Intel HD Graphics since both systems have a dedicated GPU).

Both have 16GB of RAM.

Both have a 256GB SSD but with this latest one having a 3TB HDD as opposed to 1TB.

And both have a GTX 770 for graphics.

For gaming performace, the bulk of the work will be handled by the GTX 770 in concert with the i7 4790 - no issue there. SSD's don't actually increase frame rates but rather help with load times and such. Having more storage is pretty much up to you and what your needs require.

If you are trying to save some money, take a look at an i5 CPU like the 4690 and perhaps even go with 8GB of RAM as opposed to 16. If you can, see if there are systems equipped with the GTX 970 instead of the GTX 770. A little more expensive but will provide you far better performance per dollar.

I've been looking at a laptop with these specs:

AMD Elite A10-5750M Quad-Core processor 3.5GHz, 4MB L2 Cache

8GB DDR3 SDRAM

AMD Radeon HD 8650G Graphics with up to 4206MB total graphics memory

I know it won't play ultra, but this should play Inquisition adequately, right?

I bought a cheap gaming laptop last year and while researching them, I wasn't impressed with the AMD APUs. I ended up paying £360 for:

Core i7 3632 2.2GHz

6 GB RAM

AMD Radeon HD 7730M

The 8600M series seems to be a bit underwhelming.

Hey ho finally.

Okay guys, can I run it on my laptop or should I just get PS4 version (note PS4 is really tedious to use because it isn't mine, so if my laptop can run it at w/e quality then all good)

Intel Core i7-4700MQ @2.40 GHz  ( I can overclock this if I'm not mistaken) (like 6mb cache if my memory serves right)
6 GB RAM (pretty sure I can add a couple more if need be)
And the worst part: AMD Radeon HD 8750m

So, PC experts, can you tell me if I can run it on the highest settings?

Intel Core i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz

8 GB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB

Windows 7 64bit

I'm rocking an i7 3632QM 2.2 GHz, 6 GB RAM and a Radeon 7730M. I'm confident I can get DAI to work but then again I do take care of my computer.

So will my GTX 750Ti be good enough to play on medium settings i'm guessing?

All my other specs meet the recommended if not more.

high settings yes, highest maybe. if you want to use AA, the 760 could be too weak.

I think I found it under "Display Adapters"

AMD Radeon HD 8610G

That's probably not enough, I'm sorry to say. I suspect you'll get a really sh*tty framerate even on low to medium settings. These things can vary somewhat though. Might be worth a try if upgrading is a possibility and you wouldn't have wasted the money you spent on DAI.

I think you'll struggle quite a bit with that GPU.  I doubt it'd be playable

edit:  Youtube of someone playing BF4 with that set up

So it may well run, but we're talking 10-20 FPS on the lowest settings

Yes. Your PC is more than sufficient.

I haven't kept up with mobile GPUs lately. How would a 2013 15" retina MacBook Pro compare to the recommended and minimum specs? I assume I won't be able to run it at native resolutions, but I hope I can run it decently well at 1080p.

As Mark Darrah stated many months ago and as I've reiterated time and time again, DAI would have identical system requirements to BF4. If you want to determine if you can play DAI at a particular setting, pick up a copy of BF4 on PC if you don't already have it.

Hello fellow BSNers!

I am a complete dummy at PC specifications so I would love if someone could tell me how my PC would run DA:I

I have:

Nvidia Geforce GTX 660

Intel-Core i5-4440 CPU 310GHz

Windows 8 64 bit

8 GIGABYTES RAM

Thanks for the feedback in advance!

Hopefully, everyone takes particular notice of the 64-bit Windows..    The days of gaming on 32-bit OS's is over.    I think this is the one that is going to trip up a lot of people who haven't been bothering to get a 64 bit OS.

It is at least what I tend to notice people complaining about in other games releases when their system is 'fine', but the game isn't running correctly.

I had a GTX 750ti and that card performs surprisingly well.

I think you could probably even get away with a couple of settings on high, especially if you overclocked that card. And you should, they typically overclock really well :D .

Macs aren't built for gaming, not to mention bootcamp with Windows is an absolute disaster for many games. You'd probably be able to play it on lower settings depending on how much RAM you have, but I wouldn't expect anything beyond that. Not only is it limited because its a laptop, but it's also a Mac which doesn't have a lot of support for gaming.
