My main workstation is only a 7850 of some kind (it's a weird Dellbox), but I make a point to try run close to fully maxed (I usually drop heavy performance hitters like AA down and such). 1080p, runs fine. I use non-retail binaries, so it's tough to compare what it'll be like with all the debug noise stripped out.

This is somewhat reassuring. And with the new edit on 2GB VRAM needed on recommended, I think I'm gonna stick with my display and my 7850 1GB.

No point in spending extra money before actually seeing how it runs with my current set up!

doesnt anybody noticed that the HD7870, R9 270 and GTX660 all have 2GB VRAM?^^

your GPU is what's most important and anyone with around a 7970/660gtx and above will play this just fine, I'm sure.

thats true, but the HD7970/R9 280X is about 40% more powerful than the GTX660 :P

Minor error on my part when we sent this information off.

The Recommended specs should have said 2 GB of video card memory.

Nope.  Still getting that GTX 980 4GB.  YOU CAN'T STOP ME

Any thoughts on Nvidia Quadro K2000M (2GB)? Overall, my gaming laptop has aged well, but I'm not sure about the GPU.

powerful enough to run the game, but not on high settings. performance between GT640M and GT650M. no idea which desktop-card is the equivalent to them.

@ above me: really? pay ~60% more for ~15% more power?

I guess you have to have more than recommended to be able to run the game in max setting? I think I might be able to run it in max. Cool  :)

Question, sorry if it was already answered - it says 64-bit Windows 8, but is a 64-bit Windows 7 required as well?

the 870M is very similar to the desktop 660ti which is ~20% faster than the 660 non-ti. i guess it will be a bit faster than the 660, cause compared to the 660ti (same chip as the 870M, and both 1344 ALUs) both core- and memory-clock are a bit lower.
your CPU is very good.

Looks alright to me. Just keep pushing the graphics settings until you can't stand the stuttering.

Yep, you're probably fine for high-ish settings at resolutions up to 1080p

Thanks for the feedback guys. Good to know I'll be able to get into it with at least medium-highish specs. :D

for all i know yes. for example AC4, recommended: GTX470 or higher, and i dont get stable 60 fps with my 660ti (which is ~50% faster than the 470)

That's how I read it. 64-bit mandatory.

I'm surprised you're only the second person in the thread to mention it.

Ah yes, I meant to place the 7850, not sure where my head is at :S

Rank 119 on that site. Classed as a mid range laptop card. If I get DAI, I intend to get it working on a worse card than yours, a 7730M.

Just a quick question. Would be grateful if someone could answer it. I bought a laptop for college and it has a i7 4510U processor. It has only 2 cores, but can run up to 4 threads. Can it run DA:I? Also, the video card is a 840M.

The recommended specs are generous. That's all to be said.

I would wait until we're no longer stuck at 28nm. Get something "good enough" for now (if you have to upgrade at all), and wait to see if the next generation (or whenever we can finally get to a new node) brings significant power reduction or performance increase (or both!).

GPU: GeForce GTX 860M

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz

Memory: 8.00 GB RAM (7.89 GB useable)

Current resolution: 1920x1080, 60Hz

U guys think I'll be able ta play? I just bought this rig. Couldn't wait for the specs ta come out. I only have Shadows of Mordor on it and it plays rly well. My geforce experience has it optimized anyway.

Frostbyte3 can use HT, so i think he should be fine with that notebook. graphic card isn´t that good though.

@ above me: yes, you can play DA:I with this notebook. btw don´t trust the "optimizations" by GFE, you better try and find out the ideal settings by yourself.

GTX860M  = desktop 660ti with significantly lower clocks, a bit slower than 660non-ti i guess.

I have a question, how is my pc compared to the minimum/recommended pc requirements? I'm curious on what setting I will be able to play the game. I'm almost sure I can run it at medium, but it would be nice to know for sure (if possible) I'm not a complete stranger to hardware and the like, but those lists always confuse me. here are my specs.

Intel Core  i7-2600 CPU 3.40GHz (not sure if that's quad-core or dual-core(?) )
Geheugen (RAM) 4,00 GB
Grafisch AMD Radeon R9 200 Series 3831 MB
And something close to 500GB free HD space left, so that should be enough for a lot of savegames  ;)
Ow, and I did read something here about resolution or something, that's 1680-1050

Thanks in advance.

@OP: According to this, the recommended VRAM for DA:I is 2 GB not 3 GB.

Oh, also probably worth noting that even the 7000 series should have Mantle support (maybe even the 6000s too? Can't recall). So I think that helps boost 'em a bit too, though to be honest I personally know nothing how that stuff works.

Is there any evidence of this?  And what potential gains would be had?  I'm not looking to run the leanest, meanest gaming rig evar...  just a solid, single card powerhouse that will keep me in Ultra for a good 1.5 - 2 years.

which R9 is it? btw a bit less RAM for that great CPU (4core with HT). but in this resolution, you should be able to get high settings, even with the "smallest" "R9 200 Series", which would be the R9 270.

for all i know Mantle works with HD7XXX or newer, but not with HD6XXX. also the new chips (R9 290(X), R7 260X and others) benefit more from it than the "old" HD7XXX chips, which were also used in some R9 cards (270(X), 280(X)).
don´t kill me if i said something wrong^^

but more important for Mantle, which CPU is in you workstation?
