Im using AMD Radeon 7870, as is reccomended. Does this card have a specific advantage since that card was the one specified? I bought that card by chance.

Also, just upgraded from 4Gig to 8Gig RaM, and from duo core 2.8 to quad core 3.2 + an SSD.

Maker help me I'm so happy atm <3

Did they show a screenshot of the inventory and skills? Or is it just the same as the console versions?

Somebody mentioned they will be showing them Monday via the Twitch feed.  It sounds like they are deciding what to show, which to me sounds alot less like they are reusing the same console screens and more like there will be something new to show.

OS: Windows 7 64-bit
CPU: AMD A4-3300 Dual Core @ 2.5GHz
RAM: 4GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6410D
Graphics Memory: 512MB
Direct X11

i´m afraid the game wont run on this system.

nope, it just means "HD7870 or better".

may i ask which quad core? there are tons of quadcores.

I have a AMD Athlon™ II X2 255 Processor (2 CPUs), ~3.1GHz, 4GB RAM and a AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series card, how bad off am I?

OR DID WE

Fancy asking around the office whether the Windows 8.1 requirement is an actual requirement, or more of a "we didn't test it cause 8.1 is a free upgrade any way" kind of deal? If the latter, then I feel safe since I have native 8.0 drivers and all - even though I recognise it's not an officially supported system. If the former, I'm in need to find alternate software solutions before Inquisition hits (cause I'm not gonna sit there come November 20 with my figurative pants down ;) ).

On the off chance that I do go looking for a PC (planning to try it out first on what I already have, but I'm looking around now in case I decide to upgrade), how does this sound?

Processor Type Intel Core i7-4770 Processor Speed 3.4 GHz RAM 8 GB Dual Channel (1600 MHz DDR3) Hard Drive Capacity 1 TB Optical Drive Slot-Loading Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD±RW; CD-RW) Pre-loaded Operating System Windows 8.1 (64-Bit) Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 Dedicated Graphic Card Yes Video Memory 4 GB

I can't afford to replace my laptop right now, but if I'm going to upgrade one day I might as well start saving now. Haha.

I aimed for a $1500 ish budget for a full new build that I could get right away. Higher was certainly tempting but I also have condo payments to make. CURSE YOU ADULTHOOD

Young: "I dont have any freedom or money! School... homework... zitts... Curse you youth!"
Middle aged: "I dont have any freedom or money! Work... bills... Curse you adulthood!"
Old: "No freedom, no money, no health, bad memory and I have blood in my stool... great"

But thanks to BIoware, in my case it will soon be: "Doesent matter, Played DA:I, can die happy now."

Just thought I'd ask if it would be possible to play this game on my laptop even at low settings. It can play all the mass effect games, DAO and DAII and Witcher 2 (at low settings) if not at least I can play it on my PS3 here is my specs

Windows 7
Intel core i5 2410M 2.3GHz
4GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 555M

i dont know if the game also runs on dualcore CPUs without HT, but if it does, it wont run well i guess. maybe look for an Athlon II X4?

to be honest, that sounds terrible. go for the i7 4790K which has 4 to 4,4GHz (not that the 4770 is a bad CPU, it is also a very good one), and, much more important, replace this GTX745 crapcard with a better one (srsly, this card is an insult to the GTX-label. hell, even the GTX750 is much better than this eyecatching crapcard) like a GTX770 or R9 285/R280X, or maybe the upcoming GTX960 (Q1 2015).

Windows 7

4GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 555M

if the game accepts dualcores with HT, it will run.

The absolute cheapest way you can boost DA:I, is to get another 4GB ram (for 8GiG total) and get an SSD disc and install DA:I on that (I think).

I'd try 1080p with it, maybe lower settings and if necessary drop down to lower resolution like 1600x900.

imo its cheaper and more useful to upgrade the CPU, this dualcore will be a massive bottleneck.

I too have a I5 Dual core so might have to get an upgrade sooner than expected but I should try it out first right?  It runs at over 3 something speed.  Ha ha I don't want to look things up.

every dualcore Core iX has HT, which makes it act more like a native quadcore than a dualcore without HT.

This website states that Battlefield 4 runs at 26.1 frames per second on medium settings on my Macbook Pro.  That's good enough for me.

Anyone looking to see how DA:I will run on your laptop, I suggest searching on the site for your laptop.

I would suspect it's not an actual requirement, but that 8.1 is what we'd officially support/have done proper testing on. More of the Edmonton crew would know better than me. I could still ask around next week if it's not proper clarified by then.

thought i would jump in and see how best to upgrade my computer to get to medium, maybe high settings: It is a HP 6710f with an upgraded gpu, so it is an old computer

AMD Athlon II x4 640 processor

Radeon hd 7700 1gb

8gb RAM

According to the website the motherboard is a N-Alvorix-RS880-uATX

I know I need to upgrade anyways, and since I am on a budget, AMD is what I am sticking with.

I have already been on pcpartspicker, and the cpu i have been recommneded are either the fx-4300 3.8Gz quad, or the fx-6300 3.5Gz. If that means I must upgrade the motherboard so be it.

If I am reusing parts for a new computer, can I reuse the HP case or should i get a new one?

Thank you

i have a 2500K too, great CPU, "Sandy" was with no doubt the best CPU-generation in the last years. nevertheless it will be "replaced" soon (new system).

take the FX6300. you could reuse the RAM (if its DDR3) and maybe the case, but i would look for a new one. gpu?

Sounds neat, and pretty much what I was expecting. Very few pieces of software care about the differences between 8.0 and 8.1 after all. I know you're just guessing, and that even if your guess comes out correct then it's nothing BioWare could possibly support officially, but I still feel better hearing your educated guess.

Please do ask around if nobody else has come forward, though. It couldn't hurt =) Worst case scenario is that I'm looking into an 8.0 / 8.1 dual-boot solution. I know of no reason why that wouldn't work.

I believe those results are specifically for the 13" model with integrated graphics.

Know if any of the core architecture of .0 was changed significantly for .1? I hear the UX was changed to make it feel more traditional/familiar desktop, but I haven't heard whether it's actually all that different under the hood. As such, I couldn't think of much reason why DAI wouldn't run just fine on 8.0.
