for me anything below 50 is bad, im seriously considering getting EVGAS superclocked 980 ACX2. i have 780ti but its still a performance boost between 5-20 % based on game and as newer drives are released there will probably be a greater boost. What is making me hesitate is how soon nvidias next release is going to be. There's all kinds of speculation as to when thats going to be.

spending ~600$ for ~10% more power is a waste of money imo, better wait for "Big Maxwell" aka GM200. btw, i assume that you´ve already overclocked your 780ti?

Phew. Can run it on Ultra@60fps. IF there are such settings.

depends on your definition of good framerates, for me 20 is good...

I... how?

Below 25 it's becoming absolutely unplayable, because you can't even see proper lipsync. It just stutters/moves to slowly to really match the voice actor.

I'm not even talking about movement/combat.

I'm not one of those purists, who think that playing games below 120 FPS is an abominable practice, but I find it really hard to play below 30. Everything above 30 is fine for third person games. FPS should have 50+ due to completely different perspective, controls and camera.

I'm pretty sure you should be able to have 60 FPS on Ultra, unless you're playing in 4K or something. 780ti is an absolute top shelf right now.

yes i have, and yep you are completely right that its crazy to even consider it.but hey if i was rational i wouldnt be an enthusiast haha At first i didnt, but then i saw the potential, and then i also realized that "Big Maxwell" is right around the corner. Im leaning towards the side of nothing getting it and probably wont.

Sorry for the offtopic but where exactly did you hear rumors of this "Big Maxwell"

I've been looking into getting a 980 for DAI, coming from a 780ti. Mainly for the 4GB VRAM since I game at 1440p, and somehow the 980 is better than the 780ti, even just by a little.  What's this 'Big Maxwell' you're talking about though? I've never heard such rumors and most people I talk to don't believe there will not be a 980ti or whatever and we'll be waiting till their next lineup of GPUs for more enthusiast type cards.

Hi All I see that they updated the systems info. I've been given some great feedback but I'm still a bit unsure (or very stupid probably LOL).  My specs are:

HP Pavilion Laptop

Windows 8.1

Processor AMD A10-5745M APU with Radeon HD Graphics (AMD Radeon HD 8610G)

2.10 GHz

RAM 6.00 GB

64-bit Operating System, x64 based processor

it does say 4 core

I'm worried about the 2.1GHz

I don't want to buy a new desktop as I prefer laptops for the convenience. It may sound strange but DA is the only game I play, so buying a super gaming laptop is way too  expensive and probably a waste of money since I only play this one game (I am considering trying Mass Effect though). I was always able to play both DAO and DA2 on my factory standard laptops and I never noticed any trouble. If I have to buy a new laptop I could not spend more than $600. to $800 on one. Any advice for me? I will probably wait and see if it will run on my system and if not try to find a Black Friday sale somewhere. With my current setup what kind of trouble could I run into? Will I melt my laptop into a big pile of useless plastic? If it wasn't obvious before I am also extremely TECH stupid and I don't understand all the tech lingo thanks again for any help given,

Also if you want to PM info that is ok.

I think you can run DAI on low graphics settings.  If you want to be sure, try running BF4, if you have it.  It uses the same engine as DAI.

Will depend primarily on the resolution you will be playing on, I would imagine low with the possibility of medium settings if playing on at least 1366x768 or similar resolutions.

Will the game setup default to low resolutions due to my system or is that something i will have to change in setup. I know it's a stupid question but as I'm Tech stupid I just want to make sure. And big thanks for the help!!

not to mention that most times i play without sound so i can listen to music

It should initially auto-detect closest matching performance settings on launch, and you can customize/tweak from there.

Can we benchmark test the game? Like they had in Shadows of mordor?

What's this 'Big Maxwell' you're talking about though? I've never heard such rumors and most people I talk to don't believe there will not be a 980ti or whatever and we'll be waiting till their next lineup of GPUs for more enthusiast type cards.

Nvidia´s current microchip architecture is "Maxwell" with GM107 on the GTX750/750ti and GM204 on GTX960(coming)/970/980. "Big Maxwell" is GM200, the GTX cards with it (howsoever they will be named) should have at least 20-30% more performance than the GTX980.
it´s the same like when "Kepler" came out, first they released GTX680/670/660ti with GK104, and later the GK110 with GTX Titan/780/780ti/Titan Black which was ~20% (Titan/780) to ~40% (780ti/Titan Black) faster than the 680.

the performance of your 780M is between the desktop 670 and 680 which means its ~30-40% faster than the 660. high settings shouldnt be a problem.

I played BF4 (singleplayer - during the free week on Origin) on this specs:

Windows 7

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2,4 GHz (overclocked to 2,89)

4 GB RAM

GeForce GTX 460 GS-GLH

Played on High/Medium. FPS was solid 60FPS with some occasional drops here and there. You will be more than fine.

Yes, but my question was where did you hear the rumors that GM200 was coming soon? It seems unlikely to come out so soon after the 980. I'm asking because if soon means...before November 18th, then I'll hold off on my 980 purchase.

It's likely a useless upgrade but I'm eager to see Maxwell for myself(Have a GTX 780ti), and the extra 1GB of VRAM should come in handy in DA:I, ArmA 3, Modded Skyrim and a few other games with high VRAM usage.

Hey Barrett, any idea on how VRAM hungry DA:I will be at higher resolutions? It's a huge game with seemingly good texture resolutions(from what I can see in the screenshots). That, and it being FB3, makes me suspect it'll use quite a bit. Just wanted to see if maybe you had any insider info...

Hurray! this means I can play on max settings with my 2x 660s if I don't get my 980 in time.

TL:DR: whats the max res options for this game on PC?

4 cores, 8 threads with a clock speed of 3.5GHz and turbos to 3.9GHz?

Looks good to me for DAI ;)

How does your graphics card look?

Thanks! My video card is good enough, asus gtx 660 TI, so that will do.
