Hey Barrett, any idea on how VRAM hungry DA:I will be at higher resolutions? It's a huge game with seemingly good texture resolutions(from what I can see in the screenshots). That, and it being FB3, makes me suspect it'll use quite a bit. Just wanted to see if maybe you had any insider info...

I'm mostly kinda speculating here since I don't have much technical expertise in this; it seems like it'll make good use of VRAM if you got it, but should still run pretty well if you're on the lower side. Sorry I don't know much else!

Hurray! this means I can play on max settings with my 2x 660s if I don't get my 980 in time.

TL:DR: whats the max res options for this game on PC?

I should allow whatever Windows/your graphics card would let you run, far as I know. I had it going fullscreen on a 4K (terribly, due to just a 7800 series in my workstation, but still).

Hi Barett, while you're here are you able to say whether the game will run on duel core processors with four logical cores?

For those asking dual core - one of the min-specish dual core workstations I have does indeed run the game, and not too terribly. I haven't played all that far though, and I'm not sure if we'd officially support it, so your mileage may vary.

It's a Xeon 5150 2.66GHz, with an 8800GTX (512mb), 4GB RAM.

That's about all I can say.

Same doubt here.
I meet the requirements, excepto the CPU.
Any chance i can run it on a i3 2100 with 4gb RAM GPU GTX 550 ti?

Also while you're here Barrett, does DAI support resolution scaling? I think BF4 has this option.

and for me, everything below 40fps is bad and below 30 it starts to be unplayable for me. i prefer stable 60 fps.

There isn't. DA:I seems to use the usual display driver method when it comes to detecting resolutions. That means it'll support whatever your display driver supports...which is pretty much any res you can think of.

For anyone who might be interested, I'm building a new rig at home that I wanted to rock DAI with (and anything else that I'll be playing). So far feedback from coworkers and People Of The Internet has been that it's a pretty solid setup, so feel free to steal (the partlist, not my actual PC) or use as a guide/baseline!

I'm currently building almost literally the same PC for Inquisition.

I believe so, but not 100% sure. I'd need to confirm back at work next week.

3840x216. For those who like their super ultra MEGA widescreen 160:9 ratio.

Yes, but my question was where did you hear the rumors that GM200 was coming soon? It seems unlikely to come out so soon after the 980. I'm asking because if soon means...before November 18th, then I'll hold off on my 980 purchase.

i´ve read it on a german hardware page, i dont know the original source. but it said "end of the year" and it seems to be more likley that Nvidia will release the chip on the professional card (Quadro) first.

It's likely a useless upgrade but I'm eager to see Maxwell for myself(Have a GTX 780ti), and the extra 1GB of VRAM should come in handy in DA:I, ArmA 3, Modded Skyrim and a few other games with high VRAM usage.

do you already run into any VRAM-limitations? if not, dont buy the 980, if yes, and if you want to waste money, buy it.

Just overclock that bad boy and you're good to go.

you cant overclock an i3.

Finally a game who's subtitled conversation won't require a second line, meaning more screen real estate. Hooray future!

Oops sorry. Its not that complicated really just find an OC software or flash your bios to something different and then increase the multiplier (base 3.1) to whatever you want at small increments, I recommend .1 (or 1 as it shows up in your bios.) You might already be able to do this if you built your PC yourself. Just press the CMOS button when your computer shows the load screen (usually F1, Delete, or F2). Do that first and carefully study the BIOS. Actually, you know what? Scratch that, you can play the game fine as your computer is. Let me double check.

Hey @Barret Does DA:I support hyper threading?

Skyrim could definitely use more VRAM, and games are only getting more and more demanding in that regard. I;d rather have no issues playing DA:I maxed out at 1440p.

I realize it's not a necessary upgrade but I'd consider myself and enthusiast and like to have the newest hardware, especially graphics cards.

Unsure, I suspect it'd be the same as BF4 for HT (if that's known?).

I'm guessing his screen is not 1080p, So it looks doable.
