I wonder if we can enable the Mantle API right from Day 1 or whether we have to wait for AMD to release Mantle ready drivers or something .

Should be good to go on launch afaik.

I wonder how many disks it is coming on?

Physical media will be shipped only on 5" floppies. (so, a LOT of them)

The real question is whether it supports Win 3.1 or NT.

All this talk of various types of AMD support makes me think an Nvidia card is the complete wrong thing to have. Hopefully it doesn't run as badly as DA2 did for me. :/

I went from amd 5770 HD to Nvidia GTX 750 Ti.  I hope your wrong.  I hope both AMD and Nvidia cards run smoothy with the game

Yeah my card is gtx 570 so I'm already going to be playing on medium settings :( I hope it runs well.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Frostbite 3 is an AMD supported engine but NVIDIA cards work fine...at least relative to the current state of BF4.

BF4 runs beautifully on my NVIDIA based system on ultra settings with very smooth framerates.

If there are any issues, NVIDIA is typically good about updating their drivers for new titles.

They clearly have a marketing deal with AMD.

Don't worry about it.

Hopefully I can run this thing at 4K with SLI x2 Nvidia GTX 980s. Since I just spent a buttloooooad of money upgrading my rig, not to mention the new monitor.. not sure what else I can do.

Switching to AMD is out of the question and anyway I wouldn't do that for any single game (not even inquisition).

You are more than fine with 2xGTX980s. I wouldn't worry much about mantle especially if your rig is already outperforms it. I wouldn't switch to AMD myself not unless they released something comparable to the new GTX970/980 in term of power efficiency and performance.

Ok cool. Plus the latest cards can run G-sync with the acer and swift monitors so that ought to help.

For anyone who might be interested, I'm building a new rig at home that I wanted to rock DAI with (and anything else that I'll be playing). So far feedback from coworkers and People Of The Internet has been that it's a pretty solid setup, so feel free to steal (the partlist, not my actual PC) or use as a guide/baseline!

wow... this is basically the exact same setup that I'm building specifically for DA:I at this point. xD

Given that, i'm not sure if you have gotten the chance to play the game on that specific rig, but if you have, how exactly does it run? will I be able to max everything at 1080p?

Also, as a somewhat related question, have you guys tested SLI scaling at all? I plan to get a second GTX 970 sometime down the road and run the game on 2560x1440, so it would be great to know if you guys having any information on how well SLI works with DA:I.

I'm still waiting for the 970 to ship, but I'm sure it'll be super smooth maxed at 1200, let alone 1080. I'm not sure what SLI or Crossfire we've explicitly tested, folks at Edmonton would've done that.

[Prays for excellent SLI scaling]

Also Barrett's rig looks similar to mine as well, with the addition of an extra card and exception of the motherboard.

I'm excited now

SLI scaling is driver side optimization, meaning you should be asking Nvidia that question.

Should be similar to SLI scaling on BF4, no?

I would think maybe in the same ballpark. Same engine, anyway.

I'm sure NVIDIA will release performance specs for DAI after release.

certainly it's Nvidia's responsibility to get it right, I was just wondering if BW has tested it at all. I understand the Bioware doesn't actually do any of the optimization, but it's a little harder for me to get in touch with the Nvidia software developers, whereas BW employees are very easy to communicate with.

So are people of the mind that one 970 gtx won't be able to power DA:I in 2560 x 1440 on ultra settings?
