From some of the things I've been reading, the 6 and 8 GB cards are not worth it due to allocation. You would theoretically need 3 or 4 of the cards in SLI mode running with some custom ultra texture mods to make use of all that vram.

Oh. In that case nevermind. XD I'll probably stay in 900p for a bit longer anyway.

Maximum settings here I come! :)
Other then the hair styles that has the usual Bioware "plastic-helmet-hair-look" the game looks great.

Yup, I think we both (your 970 @ 900p and my 980 @ 1080p) have more than enough gpu muscle for our specific resolutions, but the point was to have that overhead for future games that might need it.

Well I guess I can live at high settings until the dust settles with the console ports. BW games tend to be the ones I mainly get and they don't usually have super crazy requirements anyway.

Your STRIX will rock the socks off of DA:I on max settings, especially at 900p - considering I'm getting constant 60+ FPS with my MSI Gaming in Shadow of Mordor (@1080p), using the Ultra Textures. And SoM isn't very well optimized.

Hello guys! Can you help me? I have a 3-4 years old laptop.

Here it is:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
CPU: Intel® Core™ i3-2350M CPU @ 2.30 GHz
System RAM: 6 GB
Graphics CARD: AMD Radeon HD 6650M
Graphics Memory: 1 GB
DirectX 11

Can I run the game with this? In that case, I am pretty dumb sorry.^^

Thank you for the help!

I figure I'll be able to run it, but should I press up to Medium or stick with Low and sulk?

I have an HP Envy dv6 running Windows 8.1 with the nvidia GT 635M (my weak point) but a quad core i7 intel inside processor.  Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I (obviously) don't have much time left to improve the darn thing if I can.

I know I'm gonna downgrade the tree and grass quality, cause i don't care. I own an AMD six-core processor at 2.56 GHz and I'm hoping that my computer will play the game

Really worried about the quad core reqs. Hoping this will be enough to play at least on min settings :

i5 3210M @ 2.50 GHz (dual core)

8GB Ram

GT 650M 1 GB

Anyone have any ideas ? Confident the rest will pass (just) :P

For those asking dual core - one of the min-specish dual core workstations I have does indeed run the game, and not too terribly. I haven't played all that far though, and I'm not sure if we'd officially support it, so your mileage may vary.
It's a Xeon 5150 2.66GHz, with an 8800GTX (512mb), 4GB RAM.

your graphic card is enough for low/medium details, depending on the resolution.

Don't take any offense to this personally, but the above comment kinda irks me.

I mean, we are about to see a game released that is very likely going to be at the bleeding edge of graphics programming. All of these new technologies that companies like AMD and Nvidia are coming up with to attempt to reach photorealistic levels of artistry in games, new ways of bringing an already established style to us with in significantly higher detail than ever before...

I dunno, nowadays with some of these games coming out, there is almost always a point at which I'm playing where I have to stop advancing the game, and just look around. It could be a dingy apartment or a grassy mountainside. Some of the things we are seeing these days are truly beautiful creations. And I think most people who would pay these premium prices for a game like this should expect this, to some degree.

Or maybe not. Maybe it's just me, and my priorities for gaming. I am fully aware that not everyone can afford what's often required to see the top end visuals. It just kind of made me snort a bit when I took it to the next level, is all.

Gigabyte GTX 980 G1 on my doorstep this morning. :D

Newegg shipping rocks, 3 days early

This card is bigger than the Monolith from 2001 Space Odyssey

Yeah, it's funny to see the reactions from people that didn't know how BIG those GPUs can be. It's the old question that plagues everyone with his/her first time: will it fit?

Yep, when I got my 760, I also got this case at the same time (although I got the arctic white/blue led version).

Has the removable HDD cage which allows for up to 16" cards. Lotta room.

Gotta say, first card I've ever had with a backplate, and its a monster.  Looks awesome.

I have the big brother to the Storm Scout (the Storm Trooper).  I have two GTX 780s shoved into it and that thing is a Beast and runs super cool with only stock fans.  The Beast eats all my games alive, I feel almost....godly while gaming.  :D

So I just installed the 980, doubled my fps in DA2.  My Unigine Heaven score tripled from my old card (GTX 760 2GB).  Haven't run any 3dMark tests yet.

And it idles at 25 degrees, didn't go over 45 degrees during the benches.  Woof.  Cannot wait to see Inquisition with this beast.

my CPU-cooler wouldnt fit into it^^

Which one do you have?  I have this one and it fits with room to spare.  Looks like my cooler is.... 158.5 mm high.

I'm so relieved! I've been so worried my computer wouldn't be up for the task of running DAI, but I  tried Batlefiield 4 today, and it felt silky smooth.

I should tell you though that I'm used to running games (I play mostly MMOs) at a very low framerate. Speaking about MMOS, I was shocked to notice that BF4 ran better on my machine than LOTRO for example. I don't understand this..

I ran mostly on Ultra settings, but did not use any AA. Resoution: 1920x1080.  Oh, and my computer setup is an AMD 5750 with an Intel Q6600 processor, and 4 gig ram.

MMOs are typically CPU limited compared to other games which are more GPU limited.

cpu limitied in MMO

The main reason for AMD Mantle to elevate weaker cpu to balance out the load for the gpu.

Mantle for firafax game Beyond Earth for example has higher min fps and mroe fps and better image quality (EQ) using Mantle by far.

I hope Bioware utilized Mantle the same good way Firafax done it then it will run superbly on amd cards.

Yea, that's 6.30" high (with the fan), which is 160.02 mm.

I'm looking at the window of my case now and my coolers got at least a half inch room.  That's 12.7mm, and your cooler's only 2mm higher than mine.  It would fit.  :)
