Yep!
Radeon is going to 2XX now - NVidia could be going back to the thousands again. You could start looking for an upgrade, as with $100 you could blow away your current graphics card in supreme graphical superiority.
Yeah, I've been thinking about it, but unfortunately I don't have the money to spare so that's the only thing that's stopping me. And if I'm going to upgrade I'd like it to be something that's going to last me a long time (like the 450 has done so far).
I believe i7-2600 is available in both dual- and quad-core.
Your speed is certainly high enough, so the only question is how many cores you're rocking. 2? Might be problematic. 4? You're rocking.
Uh, it shows me 8 cores, which I'm guessing is not actually the case o.O.
The Sandy Bridge line from Intel (the 2600 series) are still really fantastic chips that I know many people are still going strong on. They're some of the best CPUs Intel has ever put out IMO.
That's great! It's a relief to hear that all the money I paid those years ago are still paying off

I pretty much have recommended (though I have GTX 660 with 2GB, I don't even know if 3GB version exists, I don't think so), but I may upgrade to 970 before the game is released.
I guess having 'only' recommended means Ultra settings are out of the question. But I hope I'll be oble to run on High in 1080p with 40+ FPS...

Mine has CPU 0-7. Nothing explicitly mentioned about cores.
CPU number is Core number. Just slightly different terminology. Though 0-7 is odd.

I have to ask. Will there really be that big a difference between 3gb and 2gb for the graphics memory?
Can't remember which thread I mentioned, but I think you'd more likely run into issues running ultra at higher-than-common resolutions per se, like at 1440. With 2gb vs 3 (or 4) that is.

Your CPU is a quad core with hyperthreading (4 cores, 8 threads).

Mantle is technology for graphics cards. While graphics cards have processors on them, one generally refers to the system processor when mentioning "CPU." (Central Processing Unit)What I dont understand is why the AMD CPUs need six core- 3,2ghz and the intel needs just four - core 3,0 ?
I mean it was said DA:I will support mantle from AMD so this is a riddle for my how can there be such difference..
not an PC-Pro actually..
DAI seems to run faster on Intel system CPUs even though it supports Mantle for AMD graphics cards, in other words. The optimal system for DAI may very well be a high-end Intel CPU and a graphics card from AMD.
I noticed. But I could still fit almost 3 GTX 970s in that price tag here in Sweden =) The cards may have their prices compare differently in other countries.Price just dropped $500.

Wasnt worried about my the specs but now im pretty sure my gtx 980 cards along with i7 will be overkill for Inquisition. 4k Ultra 60fps here i come.

Some people with low specs, it also matters what screen resolution you run the game in. I assume the specs posted was with 1080p? For example me, I will have better than recommended, but my old screen only does 1050p. So I will have better fps, at the expanse of seeing less on the screen.

Interesting to see it utilizes 6 cores on the AMD. It seems requirements are starting to see a big jump and I'm guessing devs are starting to utilize more cores effectively. Right now I have a 4790k build but I might seriously consider a step up on the CPU since it's only about $40 more and 6 cores. More games are showing they run better with more cores. I'm on a 2k budget though and I'm not sure I can fit that in since DDR4/mobo prices are so high and I want a non-reference GTX 980. It just doesn't seem practical to spend all that extra money on an Intel 6 core when nothing is really pinning their current CPUs against the wall. Plus, I'd imagine something like 95% of gaming builds have Intel CPUs in them that are only on 4 cores. Until their prices drop and become more mainstream I can't see their CPUs used more for professional work viable for gaming.
It just has me a little uneasy because the consoles are at 8 cores but they're extremely weak CPUs. It's making devs figure out how to utilize the cores more effectively. I don't think I'll have to worry for least 2 years on an upgrade but 2k is a lot of money to drop on a build. I'm hoping it lasts at least 3 years with maxing 95% of games out at 60fps. Probably highly unlikely because it doesn't seem the requirements have normalized yet since the new consoles dropped. Guess it's a bad time to build a rig but oh well, I need one. Just as long as I can max Witcher 3 and DAI out I'll be happy.

I've got pretty much the same albeit the "ti" version. Depending on memory or cpu we might be able to push a bit better than 40fps. I've got this for a cpu: Intel Core i5 3570K 3.40 GHz and it's unlocked so I am hoping to be able to get high and maybe a bit more. But that 970 card cannot come soon enough!

Think I'm screwed:
Nvidia GeForce 250GTS w/ 2 GB
Intel Core 2 6600 @ 2.4 GHZ
AND I'm broke ![]()
Bought Deluxe AND CE versions. Guess I'll have to wait to play.
Anyone know any great deals to catch up?

Do you think the game will run slow with just 4GBs or RAM or will that still be fine, you think? As long as it doesn't freeze up every two seconds while adventuring, I'm fine, but I'm wondering.

Adding on to this with a neat tidbit for those with 1440p monitors and lacking framerates. Some people with low specs, it also matters what screen resolution you run the game in. 1440p is 720p squared, meaning if you lower your resolution to 720p on a 1440p monitor, you will still have the game fit perfectly on your pixel grid (will look blockier than 1080p, but the correct pixel ratio will probably be more to your tastes either way) but with vastly increased performance. A friend of mine on a 1440p monitor drops to 720p for really taxing games nowadays and it works wonders.

Rams fairly cheap. I think 4gb would struggle with this game a bit. If you can get to 8 before release you'd be in better shape.

Okay, I've moved away from instantly pre-ordering things i'm hyped for but I think I'll make an exception for DA:I
I think a lot of people were really sceptical when they saw the Xbox inputs for PC video footage (showing only 4 active abilities/spells), but you've quelled all suspicion. 8 Isnt a tonne but its way better and it aligns with number input.

Luckily for you DAI supports Mantle.
Mantle works best with weaker CPUs + good GPUs like your system so I think you'll get a pretty nice FPS boost. Plus I think you can crossfire with that APU (not really sure on that though).
