The OS part is bad enough, since I've got Vista 32-bit, but... 4 GB of RAM minimum?! Holy ****, bro! Too rich for my blood. I'm out.

If you're happy with low settings and don't have many background processes taking away the ram I'm 99% sure that it will work fine with 2gb of ram - just not on vista. :D Get Win 8.1 64-bit. I can get up to 1.65 gigs of free ram with it. Developers assume most users have 2gb already taken up by Windows and stuff like AV software, steam/origin etc so pretty much all games with have a 4gb minimum but that's usually bull. Such as Alien Isolation. Wants 4 gigs of ram for minimum, takes up less than 1. Go figure. <_<

I'm (slightly) more concerned about the minimum CPU requirements. Every poorly optimized game I've played was a giant CPU hog. DA:I being that much more CPU intense than BF4 is baffling to me. We'll see. I can run AC:Black Flag which also asks for a Quad. :P

AMD CPUs from recent years that are on 4 cores is probably not too bad if the game supports mantle. 4GB RAM is most likely going to struggle. Battlefield 4 did not like such low RAM even when you didn't have as big of bottlenecks in your PC. It's hard to say though based on resolutions and what settings you're playing on.

I noticed. But I could still fit almost 3 GTX 970s in that price tag here in Sweden =) The cards may have their prices compare differently in other countries.

Granted.

I insist on 16x10 monitors (since 1998 I have never owned a monitor that wasn't at least 1200 pixels tall, so I certainly wasn't going to downgrade to 1080 when I went flat panel in 2007), so I'm aware I need slightly more juice than standard 1080p.

I'm aware I'm going overboard. But it turns out I can expense computer hardware, so I'm not bearing the full cost myself. But without that recent price drop, I'd be getting a 290x instead.

Rams fairly cheap. I think 4gb would struggle with this game a bit. If you can get to 8 before release you'd be in better shape.

Hm...I guess I'll run it and see if the loading/freezing is too much for my nerves. I'd like to save some money if I can.

YES. At or above on all recommended specs. I can't wait to play this gorgeous game. Thank you, Bioware!

Do you think the game will run slow with just 4GBs or RAM or will that still be fine, you think? As long as it doesn't freeze up every two seconds while adventuring, I'm fine, but I'm wondering.

System RAM is a rather unforgiveable requirement, since having less means the systems swaps more memory out to the disk. You'll definitely feel it, but I can't say how much.

Recommended: GTX 660

Phew! I'm pretty close with my GTX 670, but I'm glad that card will still serve me well.

Heck, I was afraid that I couldn't run Shadow of Mordor well enough with it but I ended up running it with High textures (but 70% resolution) with around 40 to 45 FPS. I have the feeling, however, that Inquisition will be less demanding than Shadow of Mordor. I've tried BF4 when it was free for a week (Origin game time a couple of weeks ago), ran BF4 on max settings and it was smooth, much to my surprise (of course Shadow of Mordor doesn't run on the same engine, that explains a lot I guess). Go go GTX 670! (damn I'm glad I bought that card, it's still a little beast despite its age).

I was planning on upgrading to a GTX 780 or 970 (depending on prices) mostly due to Inquisition but, nope, not anymore, it can wait, perhaps next year then.

RAM is pretty cheap. You can get a 4GB stick for about $ 40-50.

Now if I only I could get a GTX 980...they keep getting sold out before I can buy one. Freaking Amazon's estimated date is 1-2 months delivery jesus christ. I'll never got one before DAI drops.

I posted this in another thread, but it should help give you an idea:

You will be able to max it out, but probably not if a high/stable framerate is a priority to you.

It should be noted that the recommended settings mention 3GB of graphics memory. This is GDDR5 memory, and most graphics cards only have 1 or 2 gigs of that, including the GTX 760. Since computers have memory that is typically split between system DDR3 and the graphics card's onboard GDDR5, that means you will inevitably run into stuttering issues as your machine swaps artwork between the two memory pools in order to compensate for the missing 1GB of GDDR5 RAM.

TL;DR: I think you will run it just fine on High, but not necessarily on Ultra.

-nods- and people where worried.

Well good stuff though no wondering if my sound card works, but probably over worrying have no issues with any games.

But  these are very reasonable specs.

I was initially using 30" Dell U3014 but due to many games and movies with 16:9 ratio, i have to go with 27" U2713H now. 4K has yet to maturized, and no GPU is capable of handling Crysis 3 in 4K 60fps. Until there is, i'll hold on my upgrades. Satisfy with R9 290 at the moment.

If you have an AMD card with 2GB VRam you will be able to play DAI at ultra settings. Don't buy a 3GB card it will make absolutely no difference (it will make if you play with 2 monitors, or with the resolution higher thatn 1920x1080p), it's just waste of money. Frostbite 3 engine is designed to run best on AMD cards, if you have NVidia with 2GB just may not be able to play on 60 fps with maximized anti-aliasing, but the difference is minimal :)

Almost every game uses 8 GB RAM as their recommended specs. Been like that since right when/right before consoles came out. At least games graphically intensive like this.

BF4 never took up more than 1.15 gigs of ram for me at 720p on low settings. Most people just have too much crap running in the background eating up the ram. Keep the pc clean, have a good OS and you'd be surprised how much better games run.

For anyone who might be interested, I'm building a new rig at home that I wanted to rock DAI with (and anything else that I'll be playing). So far feedback from coworkers and People Of The Internet has been that it's a pretty solid setup, so feel free to steal (the partlist, not my actual PC) or use as a guide/baseline!

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/fjV6K8

You are paying a bit much for that 1tb HD, should be around 50-65. You can also get a cheaper code for win 8.1 with a bit of searching too, might save yourself 50 bucks.

Oooo HAFs are nice, but watch it when you put in those wires. It's pretty easy to accidentally bunch them too much, which will cause that side of the case to wedge shut permanently (without ripping it off the wrong way, that is).

Wait, no liquid cooling!?

You think this is a motherfucking game!? Seriously, it's so much easier to clean not-to-mention a bit more quiet since most include gaskets for the fan.

Where did you find such a slow processor nowadays?

edit:  So I can be less of a jerk, could you post more details?  Because I'd be surprised to see a computer with that processor speed but otherwise meeting the recommended specs
